Google Maps visits up 41% following UK Street View launch

This was the busiest ever day for Google Maps in the UK, and as a result the site received its highest ever ranking, becoming the 20th most visited site overall. As the chart below illustrates, Google Maps UK received 1 in every 250 UK Internet visits yesterday, while the US Google Maps site also received an 84% increase in visits.
People obviously stayed on the site to play with Google’s new application. The average visit time for Google Maps yesterday was 7 minutes 6 seconds, up from 5 minutes 28 seconds the day before. Consequently the increase in pages views (76%) for Google Maps UK was higher than the increase in visits (41%).
