TechARP made a few updates to their popular Windows 7 Upgrade Schedule. According to TechARP’s new schedule, the Windows upgrade program will begin on June 28, 2009 instead of the previously mentioned July 1, 2009 date.

Any user who has purchased Vista from June 28, 2009 until January 31, 2010 will be eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7. The eligible paths remain unchanged.

Some other changes involve a limitation as to how many upgrades can be made at a time. Only 5 upgrades can be ordered per visit to the fulfillment website. This means that a user with 12 upgrade coupons would have to visit the website 3 times to order all 12 upgrades. However, a maximum of 25 upgrades are allowed for each qualifying end user’s mailing address. Customers with more than 25 PCs are encouraged to opt for a Volume License rather than to circumvent this restriction through the use of multiple addresses.

Microsoft had already confirmed that XP users can obtain upgrade licenses to Windows 7, although it would require a clean installation. Users with an XP downgrade license are also eligible for the upgrade license to Windows 7.

Interestingly, Microsoft continues to encourage businesses to deploy Windows Vista before upgrading to Windows 7.
