Windows 7 build 7032 leak + screenshots

section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 11.2.2009

Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated drivers

Days after the leak of build 7022 (32-bit) to public torrent sites, WinFuture.de has posted a screenshot clearly showing a 64-bit Enterprise edition of build 7032.

We already know of a build 7034, but this is significant because there have been no screenshots or any other tangible proof of any of the 703x builds. The screenshot shows the following build string: "'6.1.7032.0.winmain.090129-1812," meaning that the build was compiled on January 29, 2009 at 6:12PM. Since it is an interim build, it's not surprising that the screenshot shows the build expiring on July 2, 2009.

Other than the new build number, the screenshot (full-size image) does not show too much. A date is shown in the bottom left in a European format, but all this shows is that the screenshot was taken today. There appears to be a new icon in the taskbar, and it looks like it is for the Control Panel. IE8 is still at RC1, which is not surprising. The user has Hibernate set as the default for the power button in the start menu, but this doesn't necessarily mean Microsoft has changed it from Shut Down. This build does not include the fixes to UAC.

* Small Basic version 0.3 adds new features, breaks others

Look out for more leaked builds in the coming days as users become more and more impatient awaiting the public RC build rumored to be coming in April. Testers are expected to get a newer build before that.

Update
WinFuture.de has now posted more screenshots of build 7032. Head over to their site to check them out in all their glory!

build 7032 7034

By me on 14.02.2009 - 20:02
could someone explain why i am sopposed to leav my trusty xp-64 wich had worked for me perfectly foor te last three years, to install this new win-7 ??

because everbody said vista was great too, untill they got it...

why win7?

By bloke on 14.02.2009 - 23:02
imagine the speed of xp but quicker, then imagine the eye candy brilliance of vista but better and more customizable... now imagine all that put together, also if you can get yourself a touchscreen you can use multiple finger scaling and stuff which is new for macrosoft. get another hdd and just try it out, i thought the same as you i had vista x64 running fine after some tweaking here and there, then tried 7 and certainly wasnt dissapointed! it uses vista drivers so we wont have to wait a year for manufacturers to drag their bums up to date with drivers which is a major + factor, i think there are issues with ie8 but whats new for ie, i use firefox and dont bother with ie on any of my systems, but no doubt it will soon be fixed. personally i would wait for the final release and jump on it, thats what im doing with my notebook, my desktop is already running beta7000 and i dont plan on looking back :-)

driver problems

By bloke on 14.02.2009 - 23:02
have you tried running the driver install.exe in vista compatibility mode, have you d/led the correct version (vista x32/ x64) try in compat mode then right click it and choose run as admin, it worked for me with logitech's setpoint when it said it was a incorrect version.

hope that helps.

one thing

By bloke on 14.02.2009 - 23:02
one thing that does really peave me off is the uac, if it annoys you and you disable it, you can no longer use your gadgets whilst uac is disabled, wtf are you ppl thinking at the big 'm'???!!!

please for god sake fix this issue, i think im not the only one who would say uac is a pain in the ass and that they want their se'xy gadgets all over the screen so the gadget process name takes up 200mb. lol

Windows 7

By buddock on 16.02.2009 - 05:02
well, windows 7 is far better than xp and vista, if we are talking about new hardware tech. because those vista nor xp cannot hald 1 tera of harddrive and 8 gb of ram. if you have those quadcore intel and 1 terabyte of hd and or say 6gb of ram what you will gonna do with your machine. well microsoft should have doing good things if you are aware of the tech world around. if you are having old machine then do not bother posting.

windows 7

By bloke on 16.02.2009 - 11:02
what do you mean? i had vista x64 and it ran fine with a 1tb seagate drive, quad core, 4gb ddr3 and quad sli setup? its the software that needs to be upgraded to utilise your hardware, for example some games are optimized for duel core, there for a quad core only uses 2 of 4 of its cores, a game optimized for a single gpu will have hardly any advantage with a sli setup, vista was designed for multiple gpu rendering and quad core cpu's along with loads of ram and hard drive recognition.

as for old systems, they will work perfectly fine with windows 7 - as long as you have supported vista drivers, windows 7 also uses less ram than vista and has slightly less for hardware requirements, if i can run it on an old acer laptop 1.73ghz celeron intel graphics then i think it will run on just about anything new or old!! windows 7 has alot of potential, you ppl just that are bagging win 7 need to look beyond and give it a try, cos from using xp, to vista 32 and 64 to win 7 32 and 64 i am very impressed with the outcome, this is one o/s that they deserve a pat on the back for.

there are always going to be problems with a first release, look at xp they released sp3, vista got sp1 and now windows 7 will replace vista, only time will be able to show them if there are problems with the o/s so they all rely on us to be able to help us. there is no point getting angry with a psychiatrist when they are helping you with your problems.

just give it a chance, some time and like me i dont think anyone will be dissapointed with 7.
