How to Speed up Taskbar Thumbnail Preview in Windows 7

Taskbar Thumbnail Preview displays small thumbnail preview of opened window on your taskbar when you hover your mouse on taskbar icons. Many users have started loving taskbar thumbnail preview of windows 7.
But one issue with thumbnail preview is it takes some time to display thumbnail once you hover your mouse on taskbar icon by that time you can open actually window. Don’t you think if we can speedup windows 7 Thumbnail preview will make this feature more productive? If answer is yes then here is small guide on how to speed up taskbar thumbnail preview.
How to Speed up Taskbar Thumbnail Preview
1. Click on start and type regedit at search bar
2. Navigate to following key in left pan of registry editor
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse
3. Now locate MouseHoverTime key in right pan of registry editor
4. Doublick on MouseHoverTime or right click modify and change value from 400 to any value less then 100 (400 is milliseconds) lower the value faster the thumbnail preview.
5. Click ok and close regedit widow.
Now check taskbar thumbnail preview by hovering mouse on taskbar icon and it should open faster.

i would be even better to turn it off completely and make the middle mouse close the
program right off the taskbar like taskbar shuffle does.
it takes less than a second to open, for me . i can cope with that : )

the author is using a pentium 2 or similar, or just wants to show of that he has found how
to alter it .

nice idea, but the majority of mouses are 2 button not 3.
xma1e, 99% of mouses have a scroll wheel - which acts as the 'third' button by clicking
it in..
wtf are you talking about? every mouse has a scroll, which is a middle mouse button. i
haven't seen a two button mouse in about 10 years.
there anyway to activate the preview thumbnails as live when it's minimized so you
don't have to have it all open, and just can look at the thumb to see if there is any
activity?
i cant get the bloody thing at all !! using build 6801 ?? any ideas
dunno about u ppl but i have a logitech dinovo edge, mx revolution and mx air (had to see
what a free air mouse was like) and none of them have a middle button, the scroll wheel on
the revolution activates hyper scroll.
i havnt seen a standard scroll/3rd
button mouse in about 50 years :?
which they ditched on the mx1100 because the revolution was a shit design...
um sorry to burst your little bubble but the mx1100 has hyperscroll as well. plus
logitech list the revolution $20 more expensive than the mx1100.
even my new
vx550 nano on my notebook has hyperscroll.

hyper scroll then wtf are they doing still bringing new mice out with it and now others
are following its path? i quite like the mx revolution, its quite comfy to use and good
for gaming, i was gonna get the gaming mouse (g9 i think with the interchangable weights)
but i wanted cordless, its got me screwed why they didnt design that gaming mouse and the
g15 keyboard as a cordless. i used to have the 1st g15 (blue buttons not the new red ones)
and thats the reason i ditched it cos it was corded, plus the usb output were 1.1! wtf
were they thinking?
the mx1100 has a scroll wheel and a button to turn the auto scroll on and off. so
pressing the wheel down is exactly the same as it always was. and the reason the
revolution is more expensive, is because they need to cover the charges from when they
designed and built it... nothing more!!!
i dont think im missing out on much with not having a middle button either way, i mean i
can play alot of high end demanding hardware games, do whatever i want in the o/s and
believe me i dont need a middle button, shit i have the farward, back and side thumb
scroll wheel to use ontop of the hyper scroll, search button and left to right scroll on
the centre wheel. i actually found a mouse i gave to a friend that was an ancient
microshaft scroll mouse, then i thought about it as i wiped the dust off it... whats the
point in a middle button anyway? when has software really had a default consignment for
this function? maybe duke nukem3d?
at the end of the day i just want to try out
the new g13 gamepad with a pair of nvision 3d glasses in 7.1 fidelity.

i bought a zfi-platinum when it was first release, paid a small fortune for it, loved the
front panel it had, now its got hardware issues (overheating? maybe fried the output
stages...dunno) but creative support are brilliant at denying that their hardware has
issues. so its a good paper wieght. xonar here i come.
oh yeh that speed up
trick works a treat after reboot (someone forgot to mention a reboot is required for the
changes to take affect)
did i mention the xonar is cheaper and a shit load better quality (sound wise not just
hardware components)....hmm will i go back to another xf-i?...

that admin account setting, if its enabled and you then disable uac can you still use the
desktop gadgets or it still has the uknowen error when uac is disabled under admin
account?
