Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversIf you install the beta of Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) expecting to see visible changes to your version of Vista, you'll be sorely disappointed.
At least in this initial beta, all the changes are under the hood, and even they are far from earth-shaking.
Microsoft says that it has fixed compatibility problems with the third-party Spy Sweeper and ZoneAlarm security applications, enhanced hardware support for Direct X, improved Wi-Fi connections after a system resumes from sleep, improved Windows Search, added support for the newest Bluetooth specification (2.1) and rolled up all previous Vista updates.
But at the same time we should not forget that this is an initial beta and things may change gradually in the final release. The Notable Changes Document highlights the various improvements and enhancements in this current beta release.
The Windows Vista SP2 Beta and Windows Server 2008 SP2 Beta Test Focus Guide focuses on various factors for evaluating this beta. You can provide your valuable feedback and submit bugs for SP2 at the Microsoft Connect website.

i doubt so. vista sp2 beta gave me a great performance improvements. especially explorer.
i'd just be happy if explorer wouldn't freeze-up 5 times a day.
any performance increase is wiped-out by restarting explorer after freeze. come-on m$$$,
fix this!!!
for the first hour after booting-up, you can expect at least 3 freeze-ups. this is
better??? are you kidding me????
i am sick of having to enable task manager to close & restart explorer. fix this now!
my cpu overheated & destroyed itself after computer froze-up & sat for hours. why is this
happening? something needs to be done about this now. m$ owes me a new cpu.
i have a new computer, amd phenom quad 2.5ghz. with 6 gigs of 800 mhz ram. freezes-up
worse than me used to with 500mhz cpu & 64 megs of ram. get off your butts & fix this
m$!!!
task manager is my most used program. i own 4 vista computers with every flavor of vista.
they all freeze-up equally. you can expect a minimum 5 feeze-ups in first hour up.
this gets old fast having to close down a frozen computer every 15 min. how could m$$ do
this? even windows me didn't freeze-up like vista does. fix this please!!
how could m$ give us unusable os such as this?? i want my money back.
i thought service packs were suppose to fix such problems as this. m$ is more worried
about genuine than fixxing. remember this m$-- greed will destroy you.
you worms at m$ need to get on this & fix this now! it gets old fast having to restart
with task mngr. several times a day.
froze up again. getting old!
why nothing added when vista freezes every 15 min. you would think something would be
done about this terrible os.
i thought it was my computer hardware. it's a vista problem. not as if they are strapped
for cash. fix this now! m$$$=$$$
i'd hate to know i paid for it. freeezes everyday several times.
is it me or is it the same lame user putting new names complaining about freezing, maybe
your pirated copy of vista isn't cutting it anymore. lame user.
i have a new h-p desktop with vista premiun 64bit & a laptop with premium 32bit. both
freeze up several times a day. both have original (not pirated) vista that is up-to-date.
vista needs work & you know it if you use it.
vista still needs work. my compter also freezes up several times right after booting up.
after it has run for an hour, it is ok until it wakes-up after sleep. then freeze up
again. vista needs work.
that's why they call it "beta" i'm sure it will be ficedd
