opera is the fastest browser ever and if u say something about security than u denfinetly
need:
1. windows vista; and/or
2. a decent anti-virus program
firefox may not be the fastest browser on earth but i believe it is the best, due to the
vast amount of plugins available.
for example plugins can be used to control
(block) all activex, java and flash content.
by doing this all web based
virus/trojans can be prevented. thus an anti-virus program is not needed for web
browsing. there is also an extremely good popup blocker available.
all traces
of google advertisements, and google tracking can also be totally eliminated. removing
unnecessary content from web pages makes firefox display pages faster than opera!
the new beta of firefox seems very stable.
it can be tweaked so that
‘incompatible’ plugins will load. (search for info on this)
works great as a portable
application.
opera handles security well without the need for plugins and it's easy to block content
e.g. the adds on this site by right clicking on the page.
i've used opera for over 6
years and in that time there's only been 3 or 4 critical updates due to security issues
and it's by far the fastest browser.
it crashes alot still. when you input data into a form box, then boom it crashes...so im
sure they are fixing it. other than that it's great, to say the least it's way faster
than firefox 2.0
i am using this right now and so far along with firetune and adblockplus & adblock plus
updater and script block it is great. i recommend it to everyone.
thye new kaspersky
internet security pack is great also, i dont need the firewall though so i disable it and
use everything else and goddamn it is awesome.
i still think they should let every user chose if they want to block unsigned extensions
or not.
i hate when developers of software tend to decide for me and don't let me
change choices they've made.
like uac in vista, could be a great feature if i had
the possibility to add apps that i think is safe to it.
perhaps they have fixed this
in ff3.0 rc2 or will fix it for the final version but i think it's crap that just because
they distrust every developer of add ons's suddenly i can't use my most beloved add
on's..:(
