It will run on a 1.6 GHz Atom processor in Windows XP and Linux flavors, both of which are less green than a loaded iPod: $269 for the base 1GB RAM, 80GB storage Linux model and $299 for the XP version.

Memory ranges from 512MB to 2GB and storage from 80GB to 250GB, and 802.11n is standard.

As far as I can see, there’s no optical drive nor HDMI, but it does have a reasonable number of ports — perhaps useful as part of a TV-centric setup? Nevertheless, for the price, it’s small form factor bliss.

look people, open your eyes, linux may not be perfect but what would you choose for the same price 2gb ram and 160gb disk or 1gb ram and 80gb disk (the difference is the os). linux as it is not a company hasn't got a strategy altogether but what's best you always have a choice what you want to install. microsoft doesn't give you that choice, you have to use their os. for now i switched back to xp, vista isn't good enough and i know a lot about computers and believe me, stay with xp till it is supported. i personally have xp and new linux distros every week :)

WOOT TY TO LINUX
