Windows Vista SP1 outperforms Windows XP SP2 in file copy

section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 27.5.2008

"Its interesting that people seem to think that Vista under performs in every area of the system which is quite an incorrect perception.

In this demo I show how Vista outperforms Windows XP and I show the under the covers process traces of just how it achieves it."

"Demo environment consists of two images. One Vista SP1 and the other Windows XP SP2 both on the same HDD IO and communicating across my home wireless network to a Windows Server 2008 box on my main LAN. Once the two images get going latency gets introduced and things start to slow down....except Vista doesnt slow down." Watch and see at Edge TechNet.

tell us something we don't know. only the cry baby xp worshipers who bash vista every chance they get wont agree.

Be Simple

By Amirz on 28.05.2008 - 04:05
just dual booting vista sp1 and xp sp3, sometimes completely with office 2003 and 2007. then enjoy both of them,or choose and boot either of them that best for you. windows user please dont starting os civil war here that can make mac and linux user laugh. of course as successor, vista improves over xp, but in some old area, xp is still needed than vista. so why bother. peace and regards.

Vista S.ucks

By Shotgun Bliss on 28.05.2008 - 06:05

Vista and NAS

By Anon on 28.05.2008 - 10:05
vista to vista/server 2008 copying may be faster,
but backing up files to my nas unit is now 3 times slower.

Best for Vista n Xp

By Best for Vista n Xp on 28.05.2008 - 13:05
dude, just dual booting them and enjoy! happy end

XP dddddddddddddddddddd

By thearm on 28.05.2008 - 17:05
i for one do not believe this. this is one of the reasons i reinstalled xp. i know the file transfer is slower than xp. i haven't tried the sp1 yet though but i'm not even going to waste my time.

XP is shit

By NUCLEAR-TNT on 28.05.2008 - 21:05
windows xp is shit windows. it's one of the worst operating systems ever made. win vista is shit aswell, but that's because microshit is the company which made them. microsoft are c0ck suqers.
if i was the ceo, i would make the developers to sucq c0ck for every f00king blue shitty screen !!!!!!!!!
windows vista copies about 2-3 times faaaaaster, not slower !!! i have tested this and vista was slower than the other systems
also there is a fuucking annoying filter that filters words, shit.

I JUST BOUGHT 3 PCs WITH VISTA HOME PREMIUM FOR MY KIDS

By Mao on 28.05.2008 - 21:05
respond: thanks dad! we love new vista so much and xp's also fine for us but vista is much better

That's just the thing

By Vista S.ucks on 28.05.2008 - 21:05
mao, you are absolutly right. vista is made for noobs, everything is more "simple" when in fact they are not. if people using pcs were less n00b, maybe vista wouldnt have been like that

I wish

By XP on 28.05.2008 - 23:05
i wish xp would stop receiving stays of execution. i want it to die and take its 7 year old self to the os graveyard. and all the little whiny fanboys and linux fags can join it.

TESTING???

By xxx-xxx on 29.05.2008 - 19:05
well, if that is a test to let vista win some points, why don't you test vista versus windows me or windows 3.1. stupid!! and why can't the people who have got on the vista bandwaggon simply aknowledge they have been f..cked..bigtime..

Transfering

By blizz26 on 29.05.2008 - 21:05
i find transfering files from one drive to another very slow. saw no difference between a dual core or quad with same exact drives. xp was faster in that aspect. seems it has to read everything first before it writes to the other drive. twice as long now. but still love vista though and never go back to xp. maybe windows 7 will be the best of both worlds. who knows......

to the arm

By The leg on 30.05.2008 - 13:05
well vista without sp1 has shit file transfer speeds but with sp1 its on the gas. file transfer speed was one thing that was improved by sp1.

noooooooone

By the arm on 30.05.2008 - 22:05
that's good. but if they forgot about the file transfer rate when developing visa, who knows what else they forgot about. as long as xp has updates until 2014(i think it's 2014), i'm happy with xp.

NUCLEAR-TNT Is Stupid

By Nevo on 11.06.2008 - 05:06
hi, are you screwed up? xp is the best operating system to ever come out in history you retard. its common sense, its people like you that not only make my laugh but make me feel sorry for you, wake up, stop doing drugs.

- is vista better then xp? yes, obviously, theres no ifs, theres no buts, its better period, they have put in new features, new everything, so of course its better, i personally love vista, the inferface is 50 times better then xp and i would never switch back, the only flaw with having vista is the fact that many programs do not work with vista but thats ok, its just another operating system and besides that, everything else, any field is better then xp. (not counting speed)
