Microsoft periodically combines updates, fixes, and other improvements into a single package - Service Pack.
Microsoft develops updates, fixes, and other improvements that address issues reported by the company’s customers and partners. To make it easier for customers to get these updates and enhancements, Microsoft periodically combines them into a single package, and makes that package available for all Windows customers.
These packages are called service packs", Microsoft revealed in the introduction of the Overview of Windows XP Service Pack 3. With the Release Candidates of Vista SP1 and Windows Server 2008 heading to increased testing pools the past week, and with Microsoft cooking the first public build of the first refresh for its latest Windows client, the official overview for XP SP3 is the only crumb from the service pack fiesta over at the Redmond company. The Release Candidate of XP SP3 in a pre-final stage has already shipped to MSDN and TechNet subscribers.

it says its rtm, so does that mean its still beta or it is a final release?
it means released to manufacturing. think about it. if microsoft is manufacturing copies
of it, then would they still be developing it?

after using the xp student cd key an installing sp3 its saying my computer isnt genuine.
has anyone found a way around this?
i have heard that xp sp3 do not require the product key during the setup, if it is so
then does a genuine key is inserted automatically after installation for just 30 days(like
vista) or the product key column of system properties just remains empty...

wanna ask this since it would be easies to crack wpa in such case...

being lazy and learn how to slipstream there own copies of xp...

1. create a folder on you c: drive - c:\xpsp3
2. insert the windows xp with
sp2 cd, copy all folders and files to c:\xpsp3
3. download and execute,
windowsxp-kb936929-sp3-x86-enu.exe /integrate:c:\xpsp3
4. the service pack 3
rtm has now been integrated into your windows xp with sp2 cd in c:\xpsp3.

you can either burn the contents of the folder c:\xpsp3 to an iso file for burning into
cd
cdimage -lwxpsp3rtm -bc:\xpboot.bin -t12/27/2007;22:00:00 -g -h -j1 -o -oc -oi
-yd -m c:\xpsp3 c:\wxpsp3rtm.iso
tools required (search google)

i was always having some kind of issue with xp sp2. i never felt right. ever since i
started to use the sp3 beta's and now the final it just felt right. i'm glad they got
the last service pack for xp working like a race horse. this is how a computer should run.
then again i did nlite it. i don't know if it affect how fast the service pack runs but i
am happy with it anyways. i can't say anything bad about ms now :-(.
after installing sp3 5512 , went to window updates and only had to download about 10 - 15
updates, no more 100 - 115 updates now after sp3. no problem with activation after
installing sp3,i downloaded sp3 from the piratebay.
regarding: after using the xp student cd key an installing sp3 its saying my computer

copy pidgen.dll from sp2 into
nlite sp3 install. search google for 'sp3 pidgen.dll'
if sp3 is installed
normaly eg not via nlite it works fine. my xp sp3 vlk passes wga tests with no problems.
search windows xp professional sp3 rtm (v5512) vlk eng + mui pl [.iso]
you know the k in the vlk means key right?
volume license key
academic/student versions have to be activated, the ones that do not need activation are
volume license, they are not student version..
the special academic/student key (google for it!) is a form of volume license key
when used on the xp pro corporate edition , no activation or wga is required.
i've been using this for a long time and it works just fine. always makes me smile when
people hack the wga system when all they need to do is use the 'special' key on the
corporate version.
this it one of the reasons why m$ want to discontinue xp!
