Microsoft Presents the Lost Comparison: Windows Vista vs. Windows XP
section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 20.4.2008
With both Windows XP and Windows Vista being available concomitantly on the market, Microsoft is doing nothing more than inviting the consumers to compare the two operating systems.
The Redmond company inherently claimed Vista's superiority over XP, but the latest Windows client failed to deliver on the Wow promise. Microsoft's efforts failed to convince consumers beyond the shadow of a doubt that XP is no contest for Windows Vista, but perhaps the company has not been using the right tools.
Enter the Lost Comparison: Windows Vista vs. Windows XP, the cartoon version, as provided by Microsoft Japan, and via Hilary Pike. "In hobby in work, the personal computer which more and more becomes convenient, and familiar. Is assumed with the appearance of Windows Vista, various functions are strengthened, the comfort that it evolved. But, the extent which can realize the user truly it probably is to become convenient?" "Because it does not change excessively, is not the one which continues to use the sufficiently old personal computer that way even with the current personal computer" to be many, probably will be?" Microsoft asked, courtesy of the rough translation performed by Windows Live Translator.
Microsoft Japan compared Vista and XP in a total of 10 rounds, looking at various aspects of the two operating systems. Microsoft highlights features such as Windows Aero, Superfetch and ReadyBoost, but also Windows Defender, anti-phishing and the new Security Center. Windows Media Center is also leveraged to the advantage of Vista, as are indexed search and Windows 3D. Vista's advanced media management capabilities and various built-in diagnostic-tools and utilities for monitoring performance, the platform's backup capabilities, mobility features and BitLocker encryption are all contributing to the latest Windows client leaving its predecessor in the dust.
"With this serialization, using Windows Vista and Windows XP, either one just which being comfortable, being superior? It is thorough compares according to the theme of 10. In order to use the personal computer conveniently, more pleasantly, as for the Windows Vista on-board personal computer the one which is replaced being good? Or, being sufficient with the upgrade of OS? As a result and how," Microsoft added.

i went over and read the the link-
http://www.microsoft.com/japan/windows/using/windowsvista/guide/vistavsxp/default.mspx
and as much as i make out, it uses the software right out of the box. don't we all
upgrade when needed.
its true, i love licking them everyday.
this product comparison is more of a gag than reality. while vista does have some
features that are unavailable, xp did not have the problems with file copying and network
browsing that vista has. with that said i always take stability over features. i recently
had to suggest a company not upgrade to vista as the problems aren't worth the upgrade
and would be better off waiting for the next version which will be more stable. i am not
one of the vista haters, however i can't with my reputation on the line as a consultant,
suggest companies upgrade to vista. while i believe down the road all will be fixed, for
now vista still has some issues that unfortunately kill it's chances such as:
-slow network/local file browsing and copying. not fixed with sp1
-overall
explorer.exe instability when working quickly; explorer hangs when multitasking/file
managing in certain scenarios without a pattern.
-browsing entire network is a lesson
in pain. you better know your \\paths or else your screwed.
-random, application
hangs for no rhyme or reason.
-cpu and process spiking for no rhyme or reason.
basically all of vista's issues stem from an instability in explorer.exe in my
opinion. i'm figuring you'll have it all fixed in the next version so we'll see then.
for now i consider vista a beta to windows 7.........
i am not sure how good you are with computers, sounds like you just know lingo,
repetitively. but vista has been much more stable for me then xp ever was. same with most
of my friends. i have a feeling you never actually used it, or just kind of don't know
what you are doing.
just get over it! i am photographer and pretty much had to go with vista because i am
able to tag all my photos. vista is superior over xp when it comes to organization!
me thinketh the lady doth protest too much.
seeing as how you are checking for
credentials:
as a microsoft certified trainer, the cat is spot on.
i keep loling when ppl make up bugs vista has, i've been using it for a year now & i
cant fault it.
xp 32 bit doesnt hold a candle agenst vista or xp 64 bit (which
is really windows 2003 server)
i upgraded to vista and i have to say its great, i will never go back to xp.
