Windows 7 On Track For 2010 Release
section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 9.4.2008
That's the year we'll make contact, and not before.
A Microsoft source confirmed to Neowin that Windows 7 would not be released next year and that it is still on track for 2010, already disclosed earlier this year on Microsoft PressPass and Microsoft Road map charts.
Bearing in mind that 2010 is just a little under a year and a half away, it's unreasonable to think that something would be released in between; however we can speculate that SP2 for Windows Vista will come before then and may introduce some new features making the upgrade from XP worthwhile. Pure speculation of course!

the fate of windows seems doomed.
windows 7 coming out so soon either means that it's only going to be vista with a few
more features, in which case it should be a service pack, or vista was a beta for windows
7, in which case anybody that bought it or was forced to have pre-installed has been
ripped off.
i'll definitely be using linux by 2010
hmmm...it seems to me, that microsoft is acknowledging that vista is a failure like
windows me. it people have largely refused to adopt it, the majority of people seem to
complain about the poor gui and the fact that the os is a cpu and memory hog. yep, vista:
the new me, welcome to the hall of shame.
vista is a good os, and is in no way like windows me at all.
me was an edition it was in no way pushed as the next new os. why would it be? it was
windows 98 se stripped down of admin tools. vista is not stripped down at all. the
comparison is generating an era of technical morons.
as for it being a memory
hog.. that is true. but most computers on the market now of day can handle running it
smoothly. along with all there favorite lil apps.
any os with the name windows is a die-ing breed. unless microsoft realize this and start
gathering the coolest ideas from the streets and all the abnormal talent , designers etc
to build something that takes advantage of the current hardware (not future releases but
can also scale forward)-because otherwise (if they haven't already noticed) there falling
into the lions den..it's just a matter of time before they hit the ground.
people
will never be satisfied with oss that need you to upgrade hardware. apple doesn't have
this problem because they make there own hardware and plan ahead. people hated xp because
it needed more ram. they hate vista for the same reason. vista also was released
prematurely when they should have waited while sp1 was integrated into the os. those who
like vista at present have powerful machines who really notice the benefit the os has over
xp and the performance gains from super-fetch and other implemented technologies. as far
as the eye can see those who love vista love the eye candy. i was 1 of them but i turned
back to xp for now to see how the system matures. i was only using it to play crysis but
the frame rates were terrible with dx10. its only recently that the 9800gx2 really
addresses this issue.
it is a sad ancient story and myth of the legendary bill
gates and his friend turning a small software company into the richest company of the
last century. it inspires meny but it is a old company now. things seem big to it, to
walk, to do things. it cost more to pull off an idea in microsoft than from apple.
microsoft needs a walking stick. windows product line is the first to be effected unless
they do something about it quickly
failure?
and so windows
160,000,000 copies of vista sold.
i suppose you believe we're responsible for
global warming as well.
plenty nooses will be hung up. apple is horrid. i am not speaking directly about there
os's n such, just the way they go about things.
don't worry about it. it period about ended. al sore may never learn about how a man
could get pregnant lately and the community that believed in that hoax couldn't prove
human from monkey neither.
go get a job!
160,000,000 copies of vista sold.
mostly on new pcs. people did not have a
choice. ms is even holding back xp sp3 to spur vistas poor sales. this is a fact.
the number of people actually opting for vista upgrades is painfully thin: us reports
claim that sales of boxed upgrade editions are 60% down on xp levels.
* figures
quoted from from pc pro.uk*)
you got that right...sure they sold alot of vista windows on the new machines. they got
people by the balls when they got a new laptop or workstation.
by release xp3
right now..they are killing majorly vista right off market and since it is not doing to
well has they want too...they will get has much money from consumer pockets till they cant
no more.
not surprise if they screw up sp3 with bugs just to piss people off to
get on vista.
vista is pure garbage ...and if windows 7 going to be looking
like vista well get yourself a new dvd shredder cause you will need it.

work is for the working class. i wouldn't work if
you paid me.
vista is great in my machine,
for you poor people out there who dont buy latest
hardware you are bound to think its slow. xp is for old machines now.. upgrade you fools
its the future.
its not about the latest hardware. i ran vista on a quad core 3.0 with ddr 3 ram and was
shocked at the sluggishness of the os. vista is truly a fat pig gobbling ram and cpu like
a bukkake whore gobbling cum. after reimaging xp pro i am happy again. xp is for people
who want a real os that works.
yeah peopple buy computers with vista as they have no other choise and then they install
custom xp installations that have only the good from vista like the black xp, the borg xp
or ultimate xp: w w w . w i n x p u . i n f o
philistines,
if you got slow vista with a quad 3ghz, then boy you are dong something
wrong.
its flying for me. kicks xp into the grave where it belongs. i too daul booted
for a while until the problems were ironed out, by the way the very same problems xp had
when it came out until it had a service pack. now there is no comparision vista takes it
rightful place at the top of the pile.. and all you folks banking on xp sp3.. forget it
had on machines for weeks now and it does nothing.. people who buy cheap oem machines just
cant face the fact they are buying shit.. get yourself some decent hardware and vista
flys..
by the way guys you are comparing an os thats 7 years old with 7 years devlopement, with
the future..
stop living in the past people only glorify the past cos they are scared
of the future....
xp was released when people was still using p2 and p3 computers :)
dumped by quad core, 8gb vista bloatware pc for a low power xp pc.
vista is not a
green os as it has a high hardware/power requirement.
low noise and low
electricity bills are my priority these days. micro$ft are out of touch when it comes to
the environmental impact of vista.
