Free Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Internet Security RC1

section: download, for your questions: KezNews forum, 31.3.2008

Kaspersky is making headway with the development of its latest iteration of antivirus products. Both Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security have reached Release Candidate stage, which means that the RTM is on the horizon.

While KAV and KIS 8.0 are still in testing, the Russian-based security developer is offering both as free downloads. The same was valid for their predecessors, KAV and KIS 7.0 made available in 2007, which after finalization offered users an additional trial period of 30 days. Kaspersky failed to reveal the deadline planned for the delivery of KIS and KAV 8.0, both now at Build 8.0.0.310 RC1.

According to Kaspersky, testers will need codes for activating the beta builds of the new products. The Russian antivirus maker said that NNQGV-SASTS-7SY72-13TZ7 should be used with KAV 8.0, while for KIS 8.0 there is AXFRG-JW6EC-47MP1-HV4EE. Kaspersky has been hammering away at KIS and KAV 8.0 and in this context has introduced a number of enhancements. First off, the users will notice that the graphical user interface has been updated. But at the same time, the changes are not limited on the surface.

The new antivirus products bring to the table new heuristic analyzer technology designed to complement the signature-based detection by confronting zero-day threats. But Kaspersky 8.0 also delivers a new mechanism for registering events, as well as a host intrusion prevention system and proactive defense. The two security solutions will protect users from traditional viruses but also from phishing, network attacks, spam and malicious banners. At this point in time, Kaspersky is still looking for feedback from testers in order to fine tune both KAV and KIS 8.0.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0.0.310 RC1 is available for download here.
Kaspersky Internet Security 8.0.0.310 RC1 can be grabbed via this link.

Antivirus in working

By Ace on 05.04.2008 - 00:04
i've used nod32, i've used avg, avira, and they tend to miss some viruses which kaspersky seems to grab hold of instantly. i have alot of important files and documents on my pc and i rather have gauranteed security with knowing that i can go to bed and sleep easy at night. it's everyone for himself, my suggestion would be kaspersky, atleast you know your protected.

Go Kaspershit

By Rawr on 05.04.2008 - 07:04
i'd like to see some proof from those saying that kaspershit detects false positives. and no i do not need to google it since you apparently are the only one having this issue. prove us wrong!!

kaspersky good

By blue on 16.04.2008 - 16:04
currently i m using kaspersky, so far so good, not resource hunger, compare to symantec, can detect many virus, and cure without causing me to reformat. not like other, just keep on prompt found virus, but cant really cure, at last need to reformat.

Kaspersky is good!

By window on 19.04.2008 - 04:04
i never got even one virus afer installing kaspersky; mcafee and norton and avast is useless compared to kaspersky. it does not flag everything if you do not select the expert mode. you gotta select the security settings you deem required .. dont put everything at top-security - you do that and kaspersky flags everything down ..!

kaspersky is Crap

By zhuojing on 23.04.2008 - 12:04
i work as a it technician, and kaspersky is a crap.most of the pc problem (window cannot load and shit like ..canot load system32 and such that i receive so far is all about ksper, thre are thing that we cannot deleted in our computer and kasper simple list them for dumies to delete...to me i couse me alot of trouble as i had waist alot of time to format them...

kaspersky

By husker54 on 27.04.2008 - 06:04
i have tired a lot of anti-virus programs over the years and i have kaspersky now and very happy with it.i was using comodo it is good but a resourse hog. they are in a beta testing with their new version but it isn't for vista as far as the anti-virus program. i will stick with kaspersky.

kaspersky

By bobby on 29.04.2008 - 17:04
i hv used mcafee,nod32,norton,avast...but not a single product made my pc virus free.. but now i am very much satisfied by kaspersky... it is the best one..

avira the bee,s knees

Kaspersky is da best

By KOmeng on 08.05.2008 - 11:05
i think that kaspersky is the best av. i've tried a lot of av like avg, avira and nod32. all of them are useless and cannot protect my pc perfectly. only kaspersky do it well. and it is easy to use.
