it works. it is fast. it is just cool :)
btw, using xp
i had it enough with the version 3 and it's defently out of my desires forever...
doesn't matter if they cover it in gold...
if this is the resource hog for xp that 3.01 was, forget about it ever seeing the light
of day on any of my xp installs. hopefully they won't forcefeed it via wsus like they did
in october!
still a resource hog, uses over 50mb of memory just to sit there waiting to be used (xp).
i can't see what's wrong with the default xp search function myself.
i loaded it up. looked at all the new services and added up their "mem usage". my total
is just over 87 mgs.
i'd have to heartily disagree with the criticism. i've run both wds and gds and i'd
say this is one of the few cases where ms has it all over the kids from google. it allows
me to filter out types of documents much easier. gds just seems to have a preference for
returning .pdf files. i can easily hit the email filter in wds then then type "from:
billy bob +bbq +recipes" to find my favorite recipe from billy. i've got 5 gig worth of
work email and i find wds to be worth every byte of ram it takes up. and i don't find it
outrageous either - on my 2gig system, wds chews up 25m compared to 77m for firefox beta
4.
same crap different box
try this. works better than microcrap !
