How to Bypass Windows Server 2008 Activation
section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 9.3.2008
In Windows Server 2008 (and previous Microsoft operating systems) you must activate your computer in order to use it legally.
You have 30 days after installing Windows to activate it online or by telephone. If this 30-day period expires before you complete activation, Windows will stop working. If this happens, you won't be able to create new files or save changes to existing ones. You can regain full use of your computer by activating your copy of Windows. Activation is mandatory (unless of course you have a different sort of licensing in your organization).
Last evening, while giving a demo to one of my classes, I started up a virtual machine running Windows Server 2008 RC1. The VM had been installed a few weeks ago and hasn't been used since then, but before it was shut down, I had it configured with a static IP address, default gateway, and DNS server. When the machine was last configured, it was on my office network, thus, the network settings that had been applied to it fit my office network setup. The issue was that now I needed it, and I needed it at a different location- one that had a DHCP Server on it. Because of that, booting the machine with the current network configuration caused the virtual machine to not be able to access the Internet. All this is good and well, except it happened just in time for the Windows Activation pop-up to appear!
If you chose to automatically activate Windows online when you set up your computer, automatic activation begins trying to activate your copy of Windows three days after you log on for the first time. But if you haven't done so, you're stuck with the manually activation process.
As you see, just after the logon screen appears, right after you log on, the activation screen appears:
Darn! Activation? Now? Just as I needed that machine up and running in one of my demo sessions?
Is there any way to bypass the activation screen and gain access to the system's settings? All I want to do is to change the TCP/IP settings so I can activate the server online. There must be a way!
Let's try.

with rearm you get 240 days
if u dont reformat before that ill shag a donkey
in the centre circle at the fa cup final
is it windows server, so it's not supposed to be even restarted in 240 days, let alone
reformated. unless you don't want to pay for it :d
this has been around for ages how is this news,as said by previous poster what we need is
a similar oem bios hack
just wait until we crack it
i remember when vista came out people were actually having success activating vista with
oem serial numbers by calling microsoft. the operator would always activate it no matter
who called.
i guess my point is that server 2008 activation needs to be
attacked on all fronts possible.
actually it alrady has been cracked, the bios emulator + oem key for the motherboard chip
for server 2008, and away you go.. i think 2008 is where msoft actually did somethign
right for once, vista on the other hand is a compleate joke..
where do you find windows server 2008
bios emulator + oem key
the emulater is alrady availabe for vista works same, you just need the oem key and
certificates for 2008 not vista, however some people have managed to even get vista keys
to activate 2008, but this only makes it run as workstation, oem for 2008 much harder to
get hold of though, the only other way it so get a working key for 2008 which are around
:d (i love those japanese guys), and use your own kms server to activate it, kms server
its self can be actiavated by the kms servers running around free on the net, ether way no
straight and quick way to do it without phiscially modifying the software.
i might add too, the reason 2008 us harder to activate than vista, is not down to
microsoft and 2008 being harder, its simply that not many companies are using it yet, so
people cant get hold of activation are readily as vista, its as simple as that, but all
that will change once 2008 is more in use by companies, and good luck to them i say, its
better to move off your home os onto a server version anyway, with home you get tired into
being controlled by microsoft who wont let you do a thing with your system, or use it in
even the slightest bit on the net quickly, i was browsing the net only few days ago, i had
nothing running, only the browser, viewing a legitimate site, doing work, and low and
behold ie stopped loading the page, i thought hmmm net problems, but no… closer look in
events log.. tcip blocks by microsoft kicked in because it thought i was doing something
bad, don’t get that nonsense on servers.
after 12 months no one has removed the
activation from vista (don't accept
bios emulator + oem key as solution)
vista sp1 fails to install.
is the comment above mine from a retard or something???
