Update on Windows Vista SP1 Prerequisite KB937287

section: common, for your questions: KezNews forum, 20.2.2008

We've heard a few reports about problems customers may be experiencing as a result of KB937287, the servicing stack update I blogged about last week, and I wanted to provide a quick update for you.

Immediately after receiving reports of this error, we made the decision to temporarily suspend automatic distribution of the update to avoid further customer impact while we investigate possible causes.

So far, we've been able to determine that this problem only affects a small number of customers in unique circumstances. We are working to identify possible solutions and will make the update available again shortly after we address the issue.

Customers who may be experiencing this issue can use system restore to correct it or contact 1-866-PC-Safety for help troubleshooting. Additional guidance will be available via Microsoft's free Update Support Center soon.

By Mr. Q on 20.02.2008 - 21:02
previously had vista with oem bios recompiled by mobile-latham, after upgrading to sp1, vista x64 ultimate is still activated. for all those scared of upgrading, this oem bios hack still works!

MOOZ doesn't know crap

By Mr. Q on 21.02.2008 - 01:02
i'll bet you $100 there are working cracks for sp1. hell i'll stake my life on it if you do the same too.

people are already enjoying their vista w/ sp1 activated. look a little harder people. search for vista hack by mobile-latham. it works on my vista x64 ultimate after installing sp1. so i had vista with the crack installed, installed sp1 and vista is still activated.

Mooz is on Booz

By DRR on 21.02.2008 - 02:02
yep, bios cracks/hacks are working with sp1. i used a simple bios hack (not paradox)that wasn't widely used as suggested elsewhere on this site, and it worked fine. i didn't even dump my 32bit vista ultimate install...in simply removed the paradox crack, ran the other hack, and then installed sp1. worked like a charm on two systems. now...how long will it last? that's another story.....

Mr.Q is Correct

By Eat it M$ on 21.02.2008 - 07:02
have been using that same crack since i built my pc 2 months ago. i posted it for people in the sp1 crack thread, but people thought i was trying to get rs points. *smh* anyways, you have to use the crack before you install sp1 for it to work.

mr.q, have you tried this crack with 32bit? it worked on a friend of mine's, but i told him im not positive it will work if he installs sp1. with x64 crack, it asks u to place the disc in the drive to continue, but with 32bit, it just tells u its complete & to restart. does it use paradox crack? does 32bit versions show a bootmgr screen at startup? for now he's activated, but who knows *shrug*

Vista Loader 2.1.2.1

By blizz26 on 21.02.2008 - 20:02
moooz you dont have a clue what your talking about. until you know and are running it, stfu.

boot loader 2.1.2.1 still works fine even after the sp1 64bit update. dont listen to lamers!

Works

By CerealKiller on 21.02.2008 - 20:02
moooz..you're a moron. i have tested and confirm working cracks with sp1 on at least three computers at my home. go back to your hole and shut up.

Answer to Eat it M$

By Mr. Q on 21.02.2008 - 22:02
i have not tried it with vista 32bit. the one recompiled by mobile-latham does use the paradox crack as stated when running the crack. it doesn't ask me to insert any disc, i just run it, select "asus" and rebooted. i do get the bootmgr before window loads. i recently image my vista w/ sp1 just incase ms comes out with a crack killer. i suggest everyone to do the same. use acronis true image.

Reply Mr.Q

By Eat it M$ on 22.02.2008 - 07:02
hmm that's strange. four 64 systems i did with that crack asked to place a disc in the drive a few seconds into the command. so i placed the vista install disc & clicked continue & it said activation complete & to restart. i just imagined it had something to do with inserting a cert off the disc or something of that nature? *shrug* hey dont complain if it aint broken, right? lol thanx for the reply

Vista SP1

By zoth on 22.02.2008 - 17:02
i'm pretty much satisfied so far w/ my vista ultimate 32 bit install. cracked it with vista loader 2.2.0 and working great. even downloaded some updates. i trully hated the first release and i really think got it right with sp1. boots faster & it' seems copying large & multiple files using the harddisk is faster to. this my opinion just give it a try. this is whats all about anyway right testing, not just purely pirating.
