MSDN subscribers: Vista SP1 to hit by the end of this week
section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 13.2.2008
Microsoft is continuing to accelerate its timetable for Windows Vista Service Pack (SP) 1 availability.
Microsoft officials said on Monday that subscribers to its Microsoft Developer Network subscription service would be able to get Vista SP 1 by the end of February — a number of weeks earlier than the company originally promised.
On February 13, the MSDN subscriptions team updated SP1 availability information, noting that subscribers will most likely get the final Vista SP1 bits by the end of this week (which will end on February 16).
No word whether TechNet Plus subscribers will get the bits this week, too, but usually MSDN and TechNet subscribers seem to get bits simultaneously.
Microsoft announced it had released to manufacturing (RTM’d) the Vista SP1 bits on February 4, but decided to hold back on making them available to users in order to resolve some driver incompatibilities discovered in the later phases of the testing process.

i am still in windows 'genuine' shock after reading peter gutmann's discourse on
'windows vista content protection' or drm as everyone has come to know it.
professor
guttman comes across as a credible source crying out to be heard in
this digital age.
to his credit the man teaches computer science at the
university of auckland, new
zealand.suffice it to say that microsoft has
betrayed every human being on the planet
by selling their soul to hollywood,
in effect crippling the windows architecture in
hopes of creating a
proprietary software solution to combat piracy of so called
'premium content,
that being blu-ray and hd dvd content. this is why vista has a
footprint
effectively 10 times that in cpu and memory consumption of xp professional.
drm
assumes everyone is a criminal out of the box. microsoft gave this infection
developmental priority over your personal information, such as credit cards, medical
information, personal documents. it is quite clear to me that they had intended to
create a monopoly with the hardware market by creating the encryption software
to allow
hollywood to end movie piracy. vista has no other reason to even
exist. i have removed
vista from my pc and happily, but warily reinstalled xp
pro. i will never trust
microsoft again. i hope to teach myself how to use
linux in the future. microsoft is
truly an evil giant after your money. i can
see myself asking bill gates, 'will
windows seven be any better? can we trust
microsoft? his pinky touches his cheek dr.
evil style, 'of course! there is
always evil 'trusted computing'! meaning we trust you
because you are being
monitored. no one ever owns our software, they just lease it.
scary but true. read
the microsoft eula agreement.
pfffffffff...........
peace!
nice copy-pasta there.
damn spammers..
ignorance is bliss huh? either you are part of the solution or part of the problem.
people need to know that microsoft has created a frankenstein monster when they created
vista to further their own corporate interests. this is big. attempting to create a
monopoly with their software drm. not to mention creating a demand for higher hardware
requirements to pay for hollywoods copyrights. who is going pay for all these upgrades to
run vista? you tell me. their copyrights should've stayed on the disk, not my and
everyone else's pc. i am sure intel doesn't mind as they and every other hardware
manufacturer will cash in big time. microsoft could have said no to hollywood and refused
to cripple windows for drm, but they decided to cash in and attempt to create a monopoly.
this is wrong.
genny believe it or not i am real and actually wrote that piece myself! yes, i have a
brain. i have analysed and studied the vista os since it was called longhorn many moons
ago. you know it would be nice if someone with a higher iq that a head of lettuce would
actually respond.
i hear ya brother!! i too refuse vista. i'm staying with xp only because of some games,
other than that i have duel boot xp/ubuntu. considering as much frustration m$ has put us
through over the years, you would think that the sheeple would start considering
alternatives...but they are sheep after all. linux is different although not so much
anymore but it does take a little getting used to and a resolve to move forward thru any
challenges it might present.
why is vista running smoothly on my system? i did a compare also...i think you just
don't know what you're talking about...pffff... :d
who doesn't want to be the best? stay on top? always #1? and so the brain work
kicks in
that's why we're here. don't f... lie!
indeed...
linux owns yes!!! 1% of the market lol
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_os.asp
everyone knows vista is garbage...
vista sp1 is available to msdn/mvls subscribers!!!
install xp and when it asks to make a partition create one big enough for xp. but leave
enough left over for a vista install.install xp on the first part. when done with that,
install vista and use the unused space by preparing the second partition during the vista
install and install that. both should boot, but if you have trouble, or not for that
matter, download and install the great freeware vista boot pro 3.3 program. like having
two computers in one. works great! enjoy both worlds.
dual boot vista with my xp pro? why the he11 would i do that? xp can do anything poooor
slow vista can do, faster more efficiently. vista is a filthy memory whore swallowing as
much memory as it can. the os guzzles cpu threads like mad.
