Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released updates for the operating system.
This update also includes a small number of new functionalities, which do not significantly change customers experience with the operating system.

Microsoft made a build of XP SP3 available to subscribers to its Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) and TechNet subscribers on December 3. At that time, company officials declined to say when the company planned to make a public test build of XP SP3 available.
Microsoft officials have said the final XP SP3 bits should be available some time in the first half of 2008. Who knows: If the Windows team follows in the Office 2007 team’s “underpromise/overdeliver” footsteps, maybe we’ll see the final XP SP3 release a few months early….)
XP SP3 is primarily a collection of fixes and updates that Microsoft has released over the past few years since it rolled out XP SP2 in 2004. XP SP3 also does include a few brand-new features, like black-hole router detection; support for Network Access Protection (NAP) security-quarantining; enhanced security for administrator and service policy entries; inclusion of the Microsoft Kernel Mode Cryptographic Module; and Windows Product Activation modifications.

the sp3 can only be innstalled on english xp. :'(
please help me
1. all themes are gone
2. errors with a few programs including xp manager

some driver issues including a sata drive completely missing

so be prepared to spend time returning your pc back teh way you like it after install.
uninstalled this, cause anti-virus was not compatible, as well as some other programs are
not.. so i took this thing off!
yes, of course unsigned themes will no longer work after a sp install. nothing new there.
even a girl knows that themes will have to be repatched. sp3 is good :)
on my desktop pc, everything running fine. but in lenovo n100 laptop, i can't install
soundcard and modem driver.
installed it tonight and have had no problems what-so-ever.
i'm just now integrating it on xp sp2 april edition and will test it later like
unatended set up

no, you can't install sp3 on a mac! mac's do not run windows xp, mac run mac os. all
people know that! xd

to install windows xp or vista on a mac, you install "boot camp"

if you are currently on an unactivated windows xp pro it will rearm the trial for 30
days. thought that was kinda cool.
here is my experience with winxp sp3 rc1
1. anything dragged on the
desktop...be it a file, folder, exe..."security alert: your current security settings do
not allow this"
2. on installation....my ie 7 icon on desktop dissapaered as well as
in "customize desktop" in "display properties". this is a fact as when i uninstalled
the winxp sp3 rc1, the blue ie appeared back...strange wouldnt u say! i was scratching my
head about it.
one question...doesnt this update have any .net framework 2? coz
when i tried installing paint.net 3.20, i got the message that .net framework 2.0 is not
installed??? how can microsoft not put .net framework...stupid dont u think!?

i did a repair on my xphomesp2.(to clear the recent updates).
then installed
sp3(v.3264),
on my asus m2n-pvmx,(sata disk)nvidia drivers.
it took no more than
5-10 mins to complete.
yes the os seems faster.
and no conflicts.(yet lol)
and the mouse is happy,with his new cheese.
