The long-awaited Yahoo! Messenger for Windows Vista now has a preview build available for download.

The Vista version sports an entirely resdesigned user interface, tabbed chatting, the ability to transfer files of up to 2GB over the Messenger client, and a corresponding Sidebar gadget to boot.

A couple of things are missing from this build, however. Users eager to try out this version will have to do without both voice and video chat, and will also have to deal with poorer performance than the traditional Yahoo! Messenger. There is also no 64 Bit version of the software, although it is unknown if the final build will include a 64 Bit version.

Yahoo s-u-c-k-s! Live Messenger is KING OF THE ROOST

By Will on 08.12.2007 - 13:12
messenger is far more superior in terms of usage and features. it's also quicker and has a better ui. it is also easier to use and customisable. yahoo is full of glitches and crashes like every half hour. it also hasn't got the fun talkin to people like messenger.

By rucamx PT on 08.12.2007 - 19:12
actualy will,i think yahoo is much better, more reliable.it's their chatrooms that succk...big time!
full of ads and stupid kids who think that just because they know how to boot a person, they're like kings of the hill.
i use yahoo and msn messengers, but if one day msn would cease to exist,i wouldnt care because yahoo is pretty reliable too as a messenger.

By Skully on 15.12.2007 - 13:12
it takes yahoo a full year to come up with a "new vista version", and it blows out of the box. will stick with 8.1, maybe by the time windows 7 is released the vista version will be stable and fast.
