Vista Transformation Pack 8.0 Final - VTP 8.0

section: download, for your questions: KezNews forum, 29.11.2007

This program will transform your Windows user interface to ultimate Windows Vista alike looks that everyone will never notice it’s the same old Windows XP (or 2003)

Vista Transformation Pack will replace many of the resources in Windows XP/Windows Server 2003. It can change such things as:
* Boot screen
* Welcome Screen / Logon Screen
* New msstyles files (visual styles)
* New desktop and file icons
* New toolbar icons
* Progress Dialogs
* Sounds scheme
* System Tray icons
* New Wallpapers
* Windows Media Player Skins
* And much more

(From Mr Windows X)
Sadly that I couldn't bundle a user guide of this release together with the product since Maeroris doesn't have much time to work on it and I already promised to release it in middle of this month (which seems to be late already). To be frank, this version is mainly the same to previous ones except "Aero Glass without WindowBlinds" and "WinFlip" featured with overall improvements such as:

-Fixed hotfix issue, no more workaround trick required to avoid that
-Ability to save transforming information for later uses and unattended transformation
-Ability to detect the targeted machine and give suggested setup configuration
-Some transformation procedures refinements you should look at like pre-configure on first run, removed obsolete dialogs and msn skin, etc.
-New 3rd-party apps and new version of existing apps

And yes, it's free still without paying few hundreds for some certain stuff you like in Vista.

quality (vista) versus performance (xp) well of course win xp wins me back with its sp3 extra performance ;)

so this trans. pack is fu*kin appreciated ;)

If you are into pretty...

By Kunty on 30.11.2007 - 04:11
if pretty is so important to you why not just buy a new dress .

Hope there are no problems

By xavier on 30.11.2007 - 05:11
i tried several different transformation packsand most of them introduce little bugs in the os, curious about this one.

curious

By ghetto on 30.11.2007 - 08:11
just wondering if this has bugs like the previous version 7.

Vistamizer is much less invasive...

By TheBigMac on 30.11.2007 - 13:11
and doesn't use a lot of system resources. it's also less buggy than vtp.

Ram boot speeds heheheheh

By Beavis on 30.11.2007 - 14:11
===i got 4gb of ram and i cannot take anymore the slow booting of windows vista takes 1-2 minutes to boot up===

and we all know how much that 4gb of ram will aid in your boot times.... you should invest in a real system to put that 4 gigs in before you flap your trap. i really wish everyone who bitches about vista would read the hardware requirements and take those into consideration before they install it on their 1ghz dell with 4gb of ram ,voodoo2 video card on a 30gb 5400 rpm harddrive.

vtp 8

By jasyl on 30.11.2007 - 15:11
tried this on an xp sp2 laptop and could not get the third party tools to install so therefore, no cool glass and flipping windows as i had hoped. this might be stupid but does this program have video capability requirements that are holding me back?

i install this on vista and now have vista!

Solution for those with 1-2 min boot ups

By Mr. Q on 30.11.2007 - 20:11
my vista x64 takes about 1-2 min to boot. but i only boot once a month because my pc is rock solid stable and is on 24/7. i currently have 4gb of ram and vista is using 50% of it? wtf? is this normal for those who have 4gb? i usually have 80 processes running.

boots speed should be faster on vista than xp

By Will on 30.11.2007 - 22:11
i got pentium d 930, 2gb ram, nvidia 7300gs and vista ult. run all latest games on high with overclocked gfx card with rivatuner, even crisis but shadows turned off or low. anyways, boot speed is approx. 30-40 seconds and my laptop takes around 25-30.

perhaps u hav to many programs trying to start at startup.

Xp Transformation Pack!

By Doody on 09.12.2007 - 15:12
hey, how about a xp transformation pack that makes your vista to look like xp!!

re : boots speed should be faster on vista than xp

By Guy on 11.12.2007 - 19:12
no way laptop boot up espically with
vista take 30~25 considering most laptop have slow hd ~5200 rpm
and other stuff

only if you have u3er lapy protype ! :p

Vista SHOULD use that much ram

By billybobby on 12.12.2007 - 03:12
superfetch is the reason - it loads lots of stuff into memory to "theoretically" make your computer faster. it's a radically different approach from xp's prefetcher explaining the steep memory requirements.
i use xp sp3 :)

what about GMA?

By billboy on 12.12.2007 - 07:12
i tried to install this one on intel gma, its doesnt working. any idea?

Why do you need it?

By tantan on 16.12.2007 - 12:12
why most of the people still love to convert their xp to a vista-like gui. i think it is the time to stick to vista.
having the recommended specs gives you full experience!

noting

By jay on 17.12.2007 - 15:12
hey..noting so special about vista...i install two os on my machine...vista ultimate & xp pro sp2...xp is most of the stable os...faster & reliable...

WHAT?

By SilentR3Venge on 05.01.2008 - 23:01
"sp3 extra performance ;)"
i don't know exactly what you have been smoking but as of now sp3 is the slowest most unstable update i have ever seen. its like microsoft is trying to "vista" xp
