Windows Vista SP1 Release Candidate RC Available for Download

Making headway with the development of the first service pack for Windows Vista, Microsoft has made available for download a new testing milestone of the refresh. On November 14, 2007, the upcoming service pack for Vista evolved into the Release Candidate phase.
However, as the label of the testing build indicates, the fully fledged RC is yet to come, as Microsoft is offering just a taste of the Vista SP1 Release Candidate. While initial reports related to the development of Vista SP1 pointed to the availability of a public version concomitantly with the first Release Candidate stage, this is not the case. But Microsoft did expand the testing pool in comparison to the beta launched in the last week of September.
Windows Vista Service Pack 1 Release Candidate is build 6001.17042. Vista SP1 RC is up for grabs for over 15,000 testers. The first beta for the service pack was dropped into the laps of in excess of 12,000 testers, on September 24. Vista SP1 Beta Build 6001.16659 shipped only to participants in the testing process of the development milestones of Windows Server 2008 and Windows XP Service Pack 3. Vista SP1 RC can also be accessed exclusively via Microsoft Connect, although the Redmond company did slip up and produced signs indicating that the build would be opened to all MSDN subscribers.
The Redmond company failed to provide any additional details related to Windows Vista SP1 Release Candidate Preview Build 6001.17042. Still, at this point in time, judging by the frequency at which test versions of the service pack have been progressively released, Microsoft is advancing at fast pace toward the final Vista SP1 planned for the first quarter of 2008, in tandem with Windows Server 2008. A public build of a pre-final version of Windows Vista SP1 remains but a promise from Microsoft, without any substance as of yet.
While it is clear that the service pack will eventually hit MSDN, it is still unclear if the company will open up a future test build of Vista SP1 to a much broader audience. Simultaneously with the drop of Vista SP1 RC, Microsoft declined to comment in any manner on the possibility of a public pre-final Vista SP1 (according to Mary Jo Foley), or a timetable for its availability.

yes, it works. vista still activated after sp1 install
that is b.s. they are beta! not rtm or oem´s so there is no cracks for sp1 at all!!!! you
only have 3 to 30days to evaluate them!
i have 6001.17042 and it does not work says 15 days to activate
if you people havent installed the last beta (001.16659)on a legit copy vista need to
stop guesing. if you want to know if something works, then try it yourself. as for sp
betas they can last for any amount of time. its up to microsoft. i have a copy of xp sp1
beta that still works to this day. the last vista sp1 beta installed fine,put a watermark
on the desktop and has yet to expire. i have read nothing to say it will expire. alot of
pre betas dont. keep in mind if you are using a hack to make vista work. the sp1 will most
likely have something to figure it out and make your copy a 30 day trial. again if you
people want to know if something works, do it, contribute. stop making other people do
what you can do. reformat your pc a few times. you will better appreciate what other do
when they do do it. or better yet, get a job and buy it

there is no crack that will work on sp1 betas at this time! why bother when m.s. will
release it in an update early next year.

copy and paste the text below in command prompt
hit enter! check for updates! you will probably get two or three updates. (not all at once
but individually) reboot in between. this does not need a crack!! this will work on all
vista systems! if you are using paradox or boot loader 2.0 it does not matter for this
will not take away the cracks because it thinks it an oem vista when it is installing!
this will work for vista x86 & x64!!! :-)

are you worried of activating vista? never mind i've got something for you. download
refelexive activator. install vista trial, choose as to activate with phone. copy the
phone code and paste it on the space provided in the downloaded activator. click activate
and an activation code will be provided to you and paste it on the window. you've got the
real vista fully activated. that's what i read in the manual. i have'nt used it yet.

hi, i just tried this web updater and it does work if you follow the instuctions. but
after awhile you will get an evaluation desktop watermark! i tried to remove it by
hacking the user32.dll.mui, but it did not work! i know this works on x86 (32bit) vista,
but i’m now using x64 (64bit) version. can anyone help me with the 64bit version? thanks.
