65nm Xbox 360s starting to trickle out?
section: microsoft, for your questions: KezNews forum, 29.9.2007
We've been waiting and waiting, and after months of speculation, a hardware revision, a couple limited editions, and even a new SKU, it looks like Microsoft is finally shipping "Falcon"-equipped Xbox 360s with 65nm CPUs.
According to the eagle-eyed posters in the official Xbox forums, Halo edition 360s from lot #734 appear to be the first machines with the new chips, and the time-honored method of peeking inside the case with a flashlight should confirm you have the latest and greatest once you get your baby home. Check the read links for tons more info (and a fun little flamewar).

ms must be praying these new ones don't get the rrod too.
jwspeed - i finally made up a short cord to test the 360 amp draw, with a digital clamp
meter, and yes i know what the f i'm doing. i was a little surprised at the readings. my
elite at just the dash board = .9 - 1.0 amps, running a game = 1.0 - 1.1. my new 734 lot
halo 3 = .6-.7 at the dash board, running a game = .8. i would guess some smaller
parts are in the halo console, what is yet to be determined.

lot no: 734. purchased from amazon.com
fusker - the 65nm gpu is much closer than you
think. :) i agree though, the processor was never the true cause of the 3 red light issue,
that was the gpu, so might as well wait for the entire board to go 65nm.

i posted these two
links and comments because it'll give others an idea.
also note that not all
#734 halo360 units have the 65nm cpu's.
if you want it to play hd it will, just buy the addon. at least they don't force
everyone to buy it like sony. how are those ps3 sales going by the way? lmao
