Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI) 6.1

section: download, for your questions: KezNews forum, 29.7.2007

Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI) is a hypertext application designed for giving users choice. While Windows XP offers many ways of customizing the setup process out of the box, its major drawback is the lack of being able to select which applications an end user may install.

In the past, end users and administrators needed to either download the files manually, or create overly complex scripts that could only be used once. This allows you to create one image, which can then be custom configured, and optionally, automated, so that end users can install any applications that have been configured into WPI.

Latest Changes:

* WPI will now automatically trim the paths to %wpipath%\Install\Blah.exe
* Added 4 more Commandlines
* Turned the volume down a bit on the embeded media player
* Fixed the reboot issues
* Fixed the api error upon finalizing after a reboot

Great App

this works great for giving options to friends to select during an unattended installation of xp for example. simply setup the unattended installation and if they happen to see the wpi screen right after the installation reboot for xp they can select/deselect any apps they dont want or the timer will install the basic installations you want.

the real trick is getting all the apps to be unattended installations, can be very annoying but it works great once set up how one needs it to be.
