just use nlite and make your own windows xp sp2 slipstream with wmp11 and ie7 and all the
hotfixes...
i made many and even made one for vista (vlite) and it beats the
living shit out of these 'versions' probably bundled with spyware and other forms of
viruses.

best way to keep your pc up and running smoothly is a clean install, no xtra partitions,
not too many gadgets, widgets and related stuff, clean desktop area (no icons), and i
always try to avoid excessive or inordinate customizations. smells like a winxp sp3 i
downloaded once! this is my personal opinion though.

this installed easily, i had to update a few drivers . the only problem is that when i
try to type numbers on my keyboard the numbers come out as weird characters. i finally
realized that if i press shift and numlock then i can type numbers using the jkluio keys.
really weird but everything else works great.
someone went ro a lot of work amd it installs and works fine.the keyboard is in
vietnamese so you need to change to english.
took your advice salty and changed lanuage to english now everything is working great. i
appreciate the advice.

below is an example for missing uk keyboard layout for people having untouched winxp sp2:
1. open untouched winxp sp2, find [i386], open it, find kbduk.dll file and copy
to windows\system32
of installed windows xp ultimate 2007,do the same with intl.inf
file but copy to windows\inf.
2. open intl.inf with eg notepad, find section
[locales], you’ll see a list of languages, find yours
and copy the code present at
the beginning of the line (for uk it is 00000809),
3. have untouched winxp sp2 in
cdrom, in windows xp ultimate 2007 open start, then run, enter this command:
rundll32.exe setupapi,installhinfsection language_collection.basic.install 00000809
%windir%\inf\intl.inf,
important
if the layout you want restored is not
one of the major european groups and locales (quotation from intl.inf),
change
language_collection.basic.install to language_collection.complex.install in order to
install right-to-left
and contextual writing system language groups and locales or
to language_collection.extended.install to install the
east asian language groups
and locales.
4. run it,
5. go to regional and language options and change
what you need,
6. worked for me. good luck!
for all other languages just use the
appropiate files for your own language instead of english and change the information to
suit

there is a virus in the i386 directory (avast picks it up) and it doesn’t upgrade
