Safari for Windows Vista na XP
section: download, for your questions: KezNews forum, 12.6.2007
The world's best browser. Now on Windows, too - Safari 3 Public Beta. Among the most interesting things Apple CEO Steve Jobs outlined today was the company’s move to take Safari to Windows.
Why? For starters, Apple has just made the browser battle more interesting. But strategically Apple’s Safari 3 effort (see Techmeme) is a Trojan horse (gallery at right) that could encourage more Mac switching.
With Apple comes features like Bonjour, a software application that gives you a view of your network on the fly. It’s way easy.
These bundles that come along with Safari give folks a glimpse into Apple’s software (see Jason O’Grady on Leopard specs). Much like iTunes, Safari could become a critical Windows app that usurps some of Microsoft’s Windows capabilities. Safari tilts you toward Apple subliminally.
Full disclosure: I used to be an avid Safari user, but haven’t seen the browser for a few months as I’m primarily a PC person for now–at least until I get a MacBook. I had a MacBook until November.
Now Safari on the Mac had its issues–some sites didn’t work and it seemed crashy at time. Apple gives a nod to that fact and allows you to submit sites that don’t work to Apple. Presumably these things will get fixed.
Other nice features include:
* The ability to open a tab in a new window.
* An easy view of all your plug-ins, including ones you probably didn’t know about.
* And the ability for private browsing.
Biggest gripe: Safari gives you no search box choices beyond Google and Yahoo.
Overall, it was nice to see Safari back on my desktop. Welcome back.

i was really looking forward to this. lets try this.
i just gave this a try and i wasn't impressed. firefox is still far better.
gave it a go ...not impressed at all .firefox and opera rule hands down.
when you want to bookmark a website safari closes down
it took 3 minutes just to load the start page. firefox is way better-and yes i know
it's a beta-but i really don't think it was ready to be released as beta-maybe alpha 0.5
to my friend wollongong:
the safari browser does not "close down" when you
bookmark a website. as the matter of facts, i'm currently using the safari's bookmark
to browsing my favorite site keznews.com and i had bookmark many sites without any
problem.
beter than ie 7 but unfortunately not so better than firefox 2.0 :(
"it took 3 minutes just to load the start page"
speed_b:
all browsers
(netscape, ie6, ie7, firefox, opera and the beta safari browser) do not take 3 minutes to
render a startpage/a webpage.
unless 1 or more of the following conditions
are true:
1- your pc has an intel pentium 1 cpu with a 24k dialup modem.
2-
your intel dual/quad cores pc only has 256k ram with microsoft vista ultra
3- your pc
mother board has a very loundsy on board graphics chipset.
4- you are internet
surfing on the porm sex sites that load up your pc with tons of spywares, trojans, worms,
viruses and malware scripts.
5-your country government has ton of firewalls and
censorsing devices that check/track & censure the internet contents and the surfing habits
of you and your fellow citizens.
it's s.h.i.t don't work on vista - vista reject with error.
apple - kill
itself about a wall with codewrapper.
note: microsoft java or and plug-ins for ie7 donot work with safari. u need to download
sun java, adobe flash/acrobat plug-ins & other website required plug-ins for the safary
browser from the links on the apple safari download page.
i got the safari,
itunes and quicktimes working perfectly on my windows vista ultra pc. now, i want to run
the mac os x itself on my pc.
has anyone ever got the mac os-x to work on
his/her pc?
does anyone know how to get the apple os-x working on a generic intel
home built configuration computer?

you dumb-so i am full of it. i live in the free usa, i have no censorship of the
internet. my computer is and always will be clean (thanks to kis) and my computer is 2
months old dv9000 from hp with 2 gigs of ram
just shut up with the silly, dumb
remarks. safari is awful right now. and so are you!
here here you are right speedy_b. this guy/little girl is full of it. he/it really took
offense to your statement. perhaps you could offer him a free keycode so he can upgrade
from windows xp home to vista basic.
here-2wp98-khth2-kc7kg-4yr37-h8phc
no offense but neither speed nor features of safari can complete with ie/firefox. hell..
if i really want to use something else, i rather use opera.
why the hell would you want to use some useless apple crap. you have to load all the
extras into it. save the hassle and use firefox. if you want to surf the internet, using
this would be the dumbest thing to use. unbelievable!!!! give your head a shake people.
is it me or is it a bug?
i have totally no fonts at all besides for the test
on the buttons, that is the file button, edit view etc.
i click on the buttons
and the menus just display - for the options!!! can't even go to a friggin site!
and also, is it me or it so much like firefox in layout?
can anyone help
me fix this safari prob despite the fact that it's beta?
i live in an internet restricted place. i have a cheap low end hp compaq presario v3000t
notebook ($3,900 hkd). my cheap vista hp notebook & all my browsers (safari, firefox, and
ie) take less than 15 seconds to load most of the common websites’ start pages.
you
live in a free usa with no internet restriction. you have an expensive high end hp
pavilion dv9000 notebook ($9,400 - $15,500 hkd). but your expensive vista hp notebook &
your safari browser take 3 minutes to load the websites’ start pages. what's wrong?
see below if you still don’t know what's wrong with you and your equipments:

you’re loud mouth big ego bully dumbass male chauvinistic jerks who have tiny-brains and
“tiny-ducks” to cognize your own incompetents. wipe out your “ducks” to remove your oem
pre-installed junks. behave like a real man/boy. install linux and stop blaming
others.
cheer :)

i feel safari is way better than ie but, i still prefer firefox as
1) safari is
still in a beta stage n often crashes with particular sites
2)during a crash, firefox
can retrieve all data/tabs while safari cannot
though i plan to buy a macbook
pro, so i ll b seeing a lotta safari:)
...it froze on the second usage after deleting the included bookmarks. maybe it works
better on snapple hardware...
better than ie yes! better than firefox ....no in other word agreed with nigameash.
hmmm...seems to only work in vista for me. no fonts or anything in xp
only one
maths relation can explain this:
safari is greater than internet explorer but less
than mozilla firefox ftw!!!
this browser is the best bullshit!
r u done xunil. i think i do not need to comment back on the stupid remark. hey maybe
you qualify for that 1 notebook for every kid thing. try it and see (100 dollars, i will
pay it for you)
uncheers
speedy_b
i tried it and only the ui loaded, nothing else. i'm running vista ult. x64 as my dev
and wasn't impressed at all. this is not beta but an alpha app. not impressed...
