Thanks to Steve Jobs for this article on his blog and to our forum members to clecha, Nighthief and fitterphil120 for most of the findings. One again the “Chinese” come up with a new method to trick out the Vista Activation. We have seen Softmode and VistaLoader, however “ Vista Boot by gkend” does promise even more.

so is it worth switching from one click or paradox?

i still haven't heard a good explanation of how these can be disabled, aside from the paradox crack. i'm probably missing something important, but won't ms have to issue new oem certs, or the individual vendors have to update theirs on all of their sold computers in order to nullify the oem cracks?

some more details (translated to english by ztpkmn2006)

features:

1. don’t revise the mbr
2. better supporting those like dell whose bios can’t be revised. if the memory, where rsdt is, can be written, then its supposed to work.(you can use hwdirec to test if your rsdt can be written or not)

the attachment is a tool to alter the bootmgr file, easier for you to add the slic brand you need, install the according vista oem automatic activated.(when it’s not an oem version, then you have to add the matching certificate)

how to use:

must log in vista as administrator, then run vistaboot.exe as administrator, choose the slic brand you need, choose where the bootmgr file is, click ‘’modify bootmgr’ button , then its done.

suggest to backup bootmgr, start up in other ways( like usb, cd or u-partition) can restore bootmgr. once you have backuped, then theres no risk anymore.

the oem crack is still a better choice if you have recent machine that came with a different version of oem vista or can get a hacked bios.

speaking of which, can someone point me to the site that has a list of available oem bioses....i saw it once, but didn't bookmark it and can't find it now.

although by the sound of it you're all pretty happy drinking from that microsoft tit and having your own computer treat you as criminals, so i can see why you'd be vista fans.

i'm logged in as administrator, run program as administrator but the program throws an error saying "can not modify the file attributes!"

any ideas? i'm using vista ultimate rc1

yes, i have the same problem. "... can not modify the file attributes..." using admin rights.

you may need to take ownership of the file also

to take ownership of the bootmgr do following:

open cmd as admin and copy past below

takeown /f %systemdrive%\bootmgr
hit enter and copy past
icacls %systemdrive%\bootmgr /grant "%username%":f
and hit enter

now you can alter the file.

i want to use my legit key because i want to activate on multiple pcs :p

tz you want to use your legit key to activate on multiple pc's? that is retarded. your key is no longer legit if you do that. what difference to windows does it make if u use the oem key and ur legit key? none! so why use ur legit key when you won't even notice the difference?

before anyone asks,

1. this is not based on either vistaloader or paradox. it is based on the vista boootmgr crack by gkend.

2. this crack works with both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of vista,

3. this crack does not reuire that you have an oem machine, but instead makes whatever computer you have appear as if it were an oem machine.

4. everything needed for this crack is included in the crack - except, of course, for a computer and windows vista. everything means everything - slic emulator, licensing certificates, and serial keys.

5. while this crack does not come with a double-your-money-back guarantee, it should work with most motherboards. if you want to know if it works with your motherboard, don't ask - just try it.

6. if, for any reason, this crack does not work properly, you can recover your system by using the uninstall.cmd in this archive from the recovery console (if you cannot boot to the desktop) or directly from the desktop.

7. before installing this crack, you must uninstall any other cracks which you have tried in the past or are using. the best and easiest way to do this is to use voatk tools (available in the member's download section).

8. i cannot confirm that all the certificates within this crack are valid. if you use this crack and find it does not activate, please use everest or acpi scope to verify whether or not you have a slic table installed. if you do have the slic table you specified but the system still does not register, please post a resonse to let us know which slic/certificate you had specified.

9. this crack installer will be updated over time to reflect any corrections of or additions to certificates/slics, serials, and updates to the main cracking algorithym.

i installed but got an error on the second last installation. then it said installation complete, restart.
i tried to restart but only end up with booting 'windows vista' on top and "boot failed! press any key to enter command line" on the bottom screen.

how can i remove or delete this :(

so taking ownership made the program work, thank you sj, but i'm still getting this message: your windows license will expire in 5 days and windows will stop working. backup your files and then install any edition of windows vista.

this is the latest in a string of hacks i've tried to remove that message. anyone know if my install will indeed stop working, and if so how i can stop it?

it;s very easy to fix that, just use your vista dvd and select the repair function and your vista is back to normal in 10 minutes :)

i am in the same boat... i have 5 days left. i will try repairing vista with the dvd later tonight, hopefully that will fix it, i really don't want to wipe everything and reinstall.

recommend you use paradox or bootmgr install, i have legit key but tested paradox and bootmgr... both worked 100%
ran 14 days (ea one)... upgrades 100%
no problem perfect... ran wc and replaced with legit key... now back 100% legit with real key... ultimate good for another 5/6 yrs beta testing..

i have an important question!!
does this new vista oem activation hack - b gkend change or destroy my bios, or does it chnage only windows vista files??
i don´t want to kill my mainboard so i ask!

my vista install expired 3 days before it said it would!! i now need to reinstall vista. my question is, can i safely reinstall without overwriting the contacts of the 'users' folders?

don't ask me to just move those folders because i can't access them from my previous xp installation which i'm now using.

i ran the app successfully but the activation time is still counting. trid 2 of the slic types for dell and asus.

my friend gave me a version of this crack (asus fixed) my motherboard dosnt suport slic but i did the 'emulator' install and it works perfectly, and its genuine!!

i'm all for the crack... and i even paid for a full, legal copy of ultimate. i made the mistake of buying an nvidia 680i board, which of course required 4 rma swaps to get one that somewhat worked. gave up a month later and went for an asus p4wdg2 pro... so that's 5 installs of vista, each of which i had to call and sit on hold to eventually explain to some sloth with limited english why i needed to install my fully legal and paid for installation again.

haxors download cracks, and install all they want... legit buyers go through fooking' madness to get the product to work. wtf is wrong with microshit!

will this work if i have a dual partition with xp on the first one?
