Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversMicrosoft has published a list of computers from the Tokyo-based manufacturer Toshiba that cannot upgrade to Windows Vista. The Redmond Company offers no explanation why no less than
13 models of Toshiba computers cannot be upgraded to Windows Vista.
This despite the fact that some of the models more than satisfy the minimum system requirements of the latest operating system from Microsoft.
The following Toshiba portable computers cannot be upgraded to Windows Vista: Satellite R15 series, Satellite L25 series, Satellite L2 series, Satellite M45 series, Satellite M55 series, Satellite M65 series, Satellite A70 series, Satellite A75 series, Satellite M30X series, Satellite M35X series, Satellite P35 series, Portege - M200 series Tablet PC and Tecra M2 series. These portable computers were originally manufactured and designed to support only Microsoft Windows XP, reads a fragment of Knowledge Base article 934559.
By comparison, Toshiba failed to completely mention the fact that there are machines which will not support Windows Vista. On Toshiba's Support Links for Windows Vista website, users can Download Windows Vista drivers and software for your Toshiba PC, Learn about Toshiba's Microsoft Windows Vista Capable PC Program, Evaluate your computer's readiness for upgrading to Windows Vista and Learn about Toshiba's participation in the Microsoft Windows Vista Express Upgrade program.
But that is about it. There is no mention of the models that are featured in Microsoft's list, and customers are not warned in any way that they will not be able to upgrade their computers to Vista. When it comes down to searching for drivers that support Windows Vista it all comes to light. Toshiba is not offering drivers for any of the models mentioned above. And without Windows Vista support from Toshiba, end users will not be able to deploy Vista and are stuck with XP.

this is no completely true. i have a satellite m45 series running vista. the problem lies
in the intel chip that it comes with that wont let you run the aero glass theme. but vista
runs great!
my wife owns a toshiba satellite l25-s1195. it is currently running vista ultimate with
no problems at all. it defaulted to aero on the first boot, and she uses the dream scene
for her background.
i own two different m35x models and neither one would install vista. i do have a p25 and
it installed fine.
i have a toshiba satellite m50 and even with 512mb of ram it can run vista better then it
does xp.
