Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversXbox 360 Coming Soon in Black as "Xbox 360 Elite" Today Microsoft announced what has long been rumored, a premium XBOX 360 model with a black case and an HDMI port allowing for 1080p.
This "Elite" model also comes with an elite price, base price will run you $479.99 US which comes with a 120GB hard drive. Wireless remotes will run you $49.99 a piece.
You would think for all that money they would at least kick down a free one year XBOX Live GOLD membership, but sadly you only get one month of service for free.
I think the box looks great, but the white editions can be had for close to 360 dollars these days so I can't seem to justify to myself over almost a couple hundred dollars to get some new black colored plastic, HDMI port, and bigger hard drive. It might make more sense if it has the HD-DVD drive, but I can't tell if it does from the press release, anyone?
What does everyone think? Will this have the frenzy that PS3 had? Has Microsoft and Sony simply priced too many consumers out of the market? Sure would explain part of the Wii's success.

buy the same old xbox360 then have it modded instead.
wats the point when there is no hd-dvd drive?...hdmi is nice...but hd-dvd is a must if
your gonna release a 'elite' box.
its about the same box just a diffient color and bigger hard drive big deal
