OEM Logo and Information for Windows Vista - Auto Patch
section: download, for your questions: KezNews forum, 20.3.2007
Tip: Click here to update all your PC's outdated driversThanks to Steve Jobs for this post in forum. You have successfully activate Windows Vista instantly in OEM style by using hardware-level BIOS ACPI-SLIC mod, or one of the two software based OEM BIOS emulator such as softmod SLIC BIOS bootloader and Paradox OEM BIOS Emulation Toolkit.
However, if you’re not install Windows Vista with OEM DVD media image, your installed version of Windows Vista edition is just of plain flavor. If you fancy to have some OEM logo identification and OEM information somewhere in Windows Vista use below patcher, the auto patcher does automatically add and install Lenovo, HP or Dell and many more OEM logo and information to Windows Vista.
A user at a Chinese Windows Vista forum has created automated installer that add the OEM logo and info to Windows Vista. Once executed, the setup will copy the required files to \Windows\System32\OOBE folder or its sub-directory, depending on which OEM brand you pick. It will also automatically merge the registry entries and values for OEM logo and info to at least the following two registry keys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OEMInformation
and
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat\WindowsExperienceIndexOemInfo
To use the automated patcher and installer for OEM logo, simply double click on the downloaded executable, and then click on the Install button (you will see garbage text, but just click on the left button of the bottom two to start the installation. If your Windows Vista installation is not on C:\ drive, select from the drop down list under the label D.
After the OEM logo and information has been applied, you will see Welcome Center and System of Control Panel as in screenshots below. The information has added optional items related to OEM manufacturer include the manufacturer and model, a small logo picture, and a button leading to a separate page of support information.

hey steve can you get me one for my apple computer.
lol nice, i've actualy been looking for this. impressive :d
dell
alienware anyone?
works fine btw no prob with nforce chipsets
well, the automated setup didn't work for vista x64...it copied the oem stuff to
c:\windows\syswow64\oobe....
so you gotta do it the manual way...open the
downloaded exe with winrar...extract the oobe folder to c:\windows\system32 (the whole
folder)...click yes to any prompts to replace...go to c:\windows\system32\oobe\info
and run the reg file there...and you're done!!!
thanks to jrangels
jrangels thanks
steven paul jobs (born february 24, 1955) is the co-founder and ceo of apple and was the
ceo of pixar until its acquisition by disney.[2] he is currently the largest shareholder
at disney[5] and a member of disney's board of directors. he is considered a leading
figure in both the computer and entertainment industries.[6]
jobs' history in
business has contributed greatly to the mythos of the quirky, individualistic silicon
valley entrepreneur, emphasizing the importance of design while understanding the crucial
role aesthetics play in public appeal. his work driving forward the development of
products that are both functional and elegant has earned him a devoted cult following.[7]
together with apple co-founder steve wozniak, jobs helped popularize the
personal computer in the late '70s. in the early '80s, still at apple, jobs was among
the first to see the commercial potential of the mouse-driven gui.[8] after losing a power
struggle with apple's board of directors in 1985, jobs founded next, a computer platform
development company specializing in the higher education and business markets. next's
subsequent 1997 buyout by apple brought jobs back to the company he co-founded, and he has
served as its chief executive officer since his return.
thank you sandman works perfectly!
i am so tired of noobs saying hacks don't work just because they have vista x64. it
works find for the people smart enough to stay away from that crap. there's very little
drivers and 64-bit programs to even run on vista 64 or even xp 64. if mainstream
companies are ignoring it, why do you think hacks are going to work on it? microsoft made
the x64 versions of vista different. on purpose. it's more difficult to write drivers
for, for example. so software companies hate it. you should too -- and stay away from
it. vista 64-bit gives you no advantages and lots of disadvantages. wait until the
market catches up and starts providing more 64-bit programs.
anything compaq ome logo
