if you install it and check the version you'll see that it's version 1.1

my windows defender version says 1.1.1593.0 engine version#1.1.2204.0 copyright 2006. i don't know where version 7.0 came from.this is the latest i downloaded. another one of ms ongoing lies about new and improved software and updates like win 2000 being the same as win me & win xp just different gui and graphics. vista is no different than xp other than the interface,colors,minor performance,etc.
