can i use this keygen when installing vista without a key ?? ??

i did the rc1 activation, do i need to do a clean install again and then run the keygen or can i do it with the rc1 activation?

if you have problems with permissions, select file...goto properties....take ownership....then change permissions.

take ownership of the file
- right click file, click properties
- click security tab
- click advanced
- click owner tab
- click edit
- click administrators group
- click ok
- click ok to the message
- click ok twice more to close out all properties dialogs
now that you are the owner of the file, you can change the permissions on
the file even though you do not have explicit permission to do so. however,
you still can't modify that file - you have to give yourself that
permission.

for pass the permission open cmd and go to the folder with slmgr.vbs and write " takeown /f slmgr.vbs " after this go to the properties of slmgr.vbs and change permission for local user to allow modify and write and press ok, after this you can delete or rewrite original slmgr.vbs with the other slmgr. so you can run the generate process. sorry for my english.....:-)

i trieed it but nothing happened, i got a msg box telling " click ok to generate product key" then i clicked ok....nothing happens

ctrl+shift+esc processes cpu slsvc have more then 80% i think that this is a generate process

i'm runing this process over 3 hours and still nothing. can anyone confirm that this method works.

from what i understand, the nuts and bolts of it is that it generates a completely random key in each loop.

it'd be really good to have some idea of the chances we have of finding a key in any given 5 hour time frame.

it says that it tries about 10000 per 30 minutes, but if you do the maths, there's literally trillions of combinations possible. i don't know how many keys ms would deem legit, probably somewhere between about 100million and a billion... divided into the different versions of the os.

at this point i'm thinking that the chances of someone using this program in it's current state and finding a key is really really slim... i'm no maths major but i'm thinking it could take years.

hopefully i'm wrong, and also hopefully they can improve the programming somehow.

hi, i have a legit activated business vista copy, action pack version, followed instuctions and its running now. will let you know if i get a working key.

it is my work pc p4 ht 3.06 gig 1 gig ram. processor is on 50% usage will let it run all night, days etc.

does this requires an internet connection or is it an offlive activation?

if u do the maths u will find that check 10 milion keys take 20 days, so is this possible to find the right key in 5 hours time? i doubt it. i think it's fake, but still waitin' for some good news.

hey! this guys is just experimenting, and gives us the oportunity to try something new that could be better or worse than the current cracks we already have. if you don't think is worth the try just do not try it and keep your opinion to yourself. this guy has put his own time and knowledge to work for free! at least appreciate the effort, since he is not trying to harm anybody. please, be kind and patient. there will be a good keygen someday for now, just stick to what you think it works.

if this key checker is generating a random key, then checking it, isn't there a slight chance that it will pick a key that belongs to a not yet activated, genuine, shelf baught copy of vista?

ok i followed the instructions step by step and it does not work for me. i installed vista ultimate without any key so i got the random which cannot be activated. so i used the timer crack and now i replaced my slmgr.vbs file with this one. but as soon as i type c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ipk
it shows a message in notepad which says that a error occured and that for tho option "ipk" a product key is needed. i dont know what to do because as soon as i close this window the process wscript.exe disappears. i think there are a lot of users who want to get a solution for that. so i hope anyone has a suggestion:)


use the full path c:\windows\system32\slmgr.vbs -ipk generate

maybe if you all got off your a**es and worked a little instead of playing online you would have the $ and not have to worry about finding the best crack/hack for vista. bums.

if this program is checking keys for validity, shouldn't there be some network activity while it checks each key? i'm not exactly sure how it works, but i'm assuming there should be at least some activity from it...

i found that "slsvc.exe" (microsoft software licensing service) is using on average 51% of my cpu.

but no real network usgae.

you have to have a cd key to connect to those servers, you retard. this isn't to crack vista, it's to generate a cd key. hur hur hur....
secondly, i haven't seen a lot of promise from his, brute forcing cd keys would be an extremely cpu intensive process, considering the vast algorithms it would have to compute.

my wscript is taking about 05% cpu on average.... it's working, i can feel it.

first to keep it "simple" i'm talking bits here, so keep in mind to check 129 bits of keys takes twice as long as to check for 128 bits of keys - and 128 bit in an encryption is more than anyone would need (if the thing has to hold for less than 20 years).

m$ with their 25 character key has an insane amount of posibilitys, roughly 167 bits. taken they would (_verry_ optimistically) need a maximum of 100 billion (for each person on earth about 15) and one would spread those keys randomly throughout the 167 bits of keyspace, one would have to check roughly 131 bits of keys to stumble just over one.
and to make things even worse with this one can check and change only about 5 keys a second which leeds to about 1,1e+31 years (this is a 1 with 31! zeros, and yes _yeares_ ..) to find just one key, and that would just be impossible.
so if right now people actually do find valid keys, vista does accept _insanely_ more keys than m$ would ever dream to be needing.

possible countermeassures on the side of m$ would be just to narrow the valid keyspace a little (since they do know the keys they sold, this is no problem what so ever - softwarecompanys do it all the time) so vista actually would accept a key, but the activation- orupdate server wouldn't. after 10 bad tries to activate with a key the os had first accepted probably most "keyserchers" would just give up.

botomline: it's a nice idea and right now it probably will work, but if too many people will use this m$ will just narrow the valid keyspace a little on their servers and the whole thing will be over (it would then just take an insane amount of time to find a valid key that is not just accepted by vista but also by the m$ actiavtion or update servers.)
if you guys find a key that works, enjoy as long as it lasts (if you don't use updates it will most likeley last forever as long as you don't reinstall) but keep in mind m$ has the possibility to pull the plug (and then you most likeley have to reinstall and use timestopers or kes again)

what do people mean when they say this is fake? do they think it's not really generating keys? coz you know, when you consider that the entire project is open source and if you wanted you could open it up in notepad and try fixing it yourself... why would you call it fake?

i have a process called slsvc.exe using about 90% cpu usage, should i end this process, as wscript.exe is using no processing power what so ever

i believe that using software you haven't bought is different to stealing. with stealing somebody loses out, that's why it's bad.

whereas, with "previewing" software, if the only two options available to you are "preview it" or "never see it", where's the harm in previewing it?

you just don't see it, there is no gui, i's running in the background, generating and checking keys, that why the cpu usgae skyrockets to 100%

when a key a valid key is found, the old key is automaticly replaced by the new key
this can take a very long tiome though, there are millions f not billions of key combinations
and this script can only generate 10000 every 30 minutes or so (+ it's possible that already checked keys are checked again)
that's why it takes so long, don't expect this script to generate a valid key within a couple of minutes, it can take hours if not days for a valid one to be found.

in terms of this key generator being fake or not, it has nothing to do with "keyfinder.exe", for all intended purposes (to check up on what the current key of the system is) this is 3rd party software (from http://magicaljellybean.com/).

the keygenerator itself is comprised of slmgr.vbs and only slmgr.vbs. it's ridiculous to even suggest that it's a virus or a "fake!!". open it up in notepad and compare it to your original slmgr.vbs...

dualcore intel pentium d 915, 2800 mhz , 2 gb ram, i now running 2 h and don't get serial :)

assuming someone does find a working key using this method, i understand that m$ "rechecks" the key after every 180 days. therefore at this point, they would be notified that your key isn't legit & you would be back to square one??

man what a find!! feel sorry for all you people bitching about it.. got a key in 2 hours and 16 minutes, and 3 hours 38 minutes on both of our 8-way xeon boxes with 16 gigs of ram each..it did eat quite a few cpu cycles though, but it did work for me, and it generated different keys on each of our xeon boxes running vista.. thanks again..:)

this does not generate non-ledgit keys it generates keys if the key is accepted wich means its ledgit it replaces the old (basicly you cant type a non-ledgit key in the os because it wont be accepted)

i'd say that if you find a good key with this program, and nobody actually purchases the os with your key (and complains to ms that the key they just bought doesn't work), the 180 day check should go smoothly.

9 hours is nothing, 9 x2= 18x 10000 = only 180000 keys checked

if you are realkly lucky you will find a key in a day, but most of us will need to run this for days straight in order to find a valid key

using a gui or window popups after several minutes, will significantly decrease the speed the script checks keys, instead of 500 keys(for example) per minute it may go down to 300 to 400 keys per minute

but who knows, maybe someone will find a way to optimize the script, untill then just stick with the keyfinder app

been running on ultimate (with time stopper) for 18 straight hours...i probably throw in the towel after 24. time stopper seems the best way for now.

you shouldn't have packaged keyfinder.exe in there - now ignorant people are thinking there is a virus because some av makers feel that keyfinder.exe is a trojen that steals product keys. all it does is show you your current key.

oh, and some guy - you said "previewing a software is not stealing". you are right. you get 30-days to preview. actually up to 120 days if you keep rearming. if you need to "preview" it for longer than that, you are basically using it, and yes, that's stealing. :)

for legit users, trying the trials and demos are nice, and is all you need. that is why i am at least thankful that m$ lets us preview vista in any edition for 30-120 days.

now, if you want to steal the os, then, yes, all these cracks work with varying degrees of success.

i hate m$ for all of these stupid keys though. as a consumer, i feel helpless against them as they pretty much own the market share so i have no real choice in os. not only that, but they also have strict and stingy activation process that makes me scared that if the $100-$200 i spent on their os would become useless when "they" decide that my legally purchased license is "invalid" because someone else took my key (either by random generators or keygens), or when they think i am trying to install to more than one computer.

microsoft is extorting people, and although i am against piracy, i think microsoft pretty much forced people to do it.

i fix alot of computers on the side and a lot of my customers would rather have me put in a bootlegged winxp than pay the $100 for home edition oem when they loose the recovery cd on a pc that was not a major brand name (or some are brand name, but the coa was unreadable). however, they are glad to pay for video games and non-microsoft products (such as security software and educational software).

i would say that previewing software is defined by using it while you can't afford it. i fully intend to pay for vista when i have the cash (and i will), i just want to use it before then, and for more than 120 days.

all i can say is that this is the closest anyone has gotten to having an actual working key gen. if you think that it is a virus or fake, then don't try it (nobody is holding a gun to your head making you!!), but also don't criticize something that you haven't tried yet either.

for everyone else, with as many possible keys that it has to try to find a good one, it is going to take hours.
remember this is a "brute force key gen", not a simple run program and insert key, whether it works or not, at least it is that glimmer of hope!

i have been runing this crack for 6 hours and nothing. i have p4 3.0 ghz.i decided to stop this silly game and look for another way to crack vista or wait for better crack. it's a matter of time.

i just started it running in an ultimate virtual machine, i'll let it run as long as it likes, if it generates me a key i'll try it on the real machine. but looking at the number of bits i have my doubts.

i scanned this with www.virustotal.com aswell as beta tested it so i know it is clean and works, people who say there is viruses in this, get a damn decent virus scanner that doesn't make false possitives appear on purpose to make you think it is good.

there is no virus. some antivirus's might detect it as pswtool, there is no danger they are just detecting keyfinder

there is a 120 day grace period. you can use vista ultimate for 120 days without having any trouble at all... if you would just think of that?
you can see there are new cracks or methods to activate vista coming up every week... and 120 days is 4 months or 17 weeks... until then i am certain vista will be cracked in a way that microsoft can't just patch up...

i recommend that you think about this... 120 days is a long period

why would you need to run vista longer than 90 days to "preview" it for? after it expires, just go back to xp. besides, as of now, xp is less troublesome to run. that means you just want vista, not need. ;)

i have scaned this file with trend micro and no virus and spyware found. however program notify me that some files try get information without permission. it does'nt mean it's the damn virus. many programs will recognize this as a virus, but it's not! for me this is no crack and no virus. it's a waste of time!

hmm weird i just use a downloaded ultimate edition with crack + watermark patch with my key from rc1 or 2 (don't remember) and it works like a charm, including updates no problem whatsoever...

i assume people who say they come up with a key in the end must be telling the truth but this way it requires tons of patience. anyway, it's an interesting experince for us all. i still like it. let's hope some other guys find a much faster way to deal with this vista activation problem.

someone please help me please!! ok i did everything correct until the part where it says press ok to start generate, i pressed ok and then nothing happens??!! i wait a couple of minutes then a dialouge box appears and it has an unreadable language i press ok then nothing happens completly.how would i know if i found a key of how long have i been waiting for one.i know i followed all the steps correctly. oh and one more thing i have the timestop crack active i really dont know if that effects it somehow.

nice idea... now what we need is a proper activation crack so we can use these keys to install windows and not have activate it with keys that'll probably become blacklisted

instead of using keyfinder.exe i use produkey from nirsoft since i can simply refresh the view instead of relaunching the application to see any change.

it does not make repeated activation attempts. it is a monkey, bashing the keyboard, until vista says 'hey ho that key is valid and i will accept it'.

once the monkey has guessed a good key, it is up to the user to then decide whether to use it to activate with.

of course, there is a chance that the guessed key, has already been purchased by some hapless person. if so, either the 'pirate' will be told he has a previously used key, or else, the genuine purchaser will. depending upon who gets there first.

the genuine purchacer would be at the mercy of microsoft's discretion as to whether they would allow activation or not.

alternatively, the good key may not have been issued by ms, and may cause no problems of any kind whatsoever.

back in win xp, keys came in two varieties - a large range of keys which would be accepted by the os as genuine, and within that, a much, much smaller range of keys which ms would accept via wga checking. this was because of the difference between what the mathematical algorithm would accept, and the actual physical list of genuinely issued keys held by ms.

a similar thing would be likely to be an issue with this vista method - vista's internal licencing libraries are likely to accept a far larger range of keys than microsoft's own retail key generator will be set to generate.

so they will have a way of telling...

lots of people are saying how vista is crap blah blah. i use linux and i wouldnt need to do this if microsoft actually let other os's exist! for example, ms could make it absolutely possible for wine to work perfectly with linux (depending on the ability of the wine devs which i doubt is in question). but of course... where would be the money in that?! no, no other os's exist. its vista all the way, and this is what its gets them. i am in no way surprised.

slsvc.exe is ~95% cpu usage, wscript @0% is that what its supposed to look like?

i had slsvc.exe process taking up all of my cpu usage and wscript wasnt doing anything. i ended slsvc and then wscript started 2 use average 15% of cpu but then in a couple of mins slsvc started up again and wscript went back to 0. i ended slsvc again and then took full control of the slsvc file in system 32 and moved it into another folder temporaly and it hasnt started up again since. and wscript is continuing to use about 15%

the reason why it takes so long is it takes a long time for the program to search your computer for cached credit card numbers. it also steals your current winxp key too if you don't run on vista.

3 keys in 5 hours? the combos are nearly endless. microsoft did not release enough keys to increase your odds. even if they released a few billion keys for everyone on the planet, your chances are still slim to none.

on a pentium 4 640, it took me 7 hours to get an ultimate key. my room mates computer has been at it for about 12 hours and still no luck. i can honestly tell people this works, but damn! brute force takes patience. i was waiting impatiently to get a key and had to find crap to do to distract me. every 30 minutes i checked and finally, at last, a key. i guess this sh*t is pure and absolute luck. i think this is a dangerous way to find a serial number. they could log the ip of the forcer and maybe in this way many copies of original vista will be invalid. i don't want to try this method.

there's no greater risk of ms logging your ip than any1 else. this method does not try to activate online 20k keys an hr. it only forces activation from within vista. after it finds a key that fits vista's algorithm, then you try to activate online.

the old trick using rc1/rc2 key & patching files from either of those builds (also known as frankenbuild) was patched by m$ not long after it appeared. it may work initially but you have to be selective with updates or they will screw it.kb929391 is the culprit i believe.

well if people want to make it faster, then someone who knows c or something along those lines could rewrite the program in that language as it works much faster than vb.

you should only run "slmgr.vbs -ato" when you have already found the new key. the command tries to activate your product. it's not a problem you have done so already, it will return no error when you find the right key.

method 2: direct launch from hard disk

install windows vista without product key, or with the product key listed above.
download the iso image (softmod-l.iso).
extract the content of the softmod-l.iso iso archive with extraction tool like winrar. you can also use a virtual cd-rom or virtual dvd-rom emulator such as daemon tools or disk imaging utility such as winimage to load or open the iso file.
open elevated command prompt with administrator privileges. confirm any security warning that pops up.
execute the install.cmd from the extracted softmod-l.iso folder. you must execute install.cmd from within the folder where it’s located itself, so cd into the folder first. installer will attend to copy and install vstaldr, vstaldr.img and menu.lst to all drives with windows vista installation, and modify the mbr (master boot record) to load the bios crack driver as bootstrapping process to load simulated slp 2.0 supported bios with slic table data. (if installation on certain drives fail, as long as it’s not the windows vista boot volume drive, the failure can be safely ignored.

in view of the latest vista activation brute force attack, i decided to take a look at the big numbers involved in this.

we know the key length is 25. also, there are 24 possible combinations pr slot.

based on these numbers, there are 3 552 713 678 800 500 929 355 621 337 890 625 (25^24) possible combinations. let's say there are 5 billion valid keys (keys microsoft has printed/planning to sell). 25^24 / 5 billion = 710 542 735 760 100 185 871 124 chance of hitting a valid key pr key tried. let's say you can try 480 000 keys pr day. that gives you a one in 1 480 297 366 166 875 387 chance of hitting a valid key in 24 hours.

using these numbers, we know it will take 4 055 609 222 375 001 years, or 296 029 times longer than the estimated existence of the universe (from the big bang, 13,7 billion years ago), just to find 1 valid key.

so why do people come up with working keys?
quite simply, vista probably checks the key based on mathematical formulas. it probably cant distinguish a generated key from a real one. microsoft's activation servers however will be able to tell a generated key from a real one by crosschecking with the sold-key list.

what does this mean?
it's pretty clear the keys generated by the brute force attacks will almost certainly not come up with even one key identical of the keys sold by microsoft. considering the fact microsoft almost certainly has a list of keys it has sold and has the ability to block all others, the party is soon over.

the moment microsoft starts to check keys up against their list of sold keys, activation of generated keys will be impossible.

conclusion
why this is certainly not fun for microsoft, it has bigger worries, like the recently oem activation cracks that exist out there, enabling users to activate vista without calling home to microsoft.

pswtool means just that... a password tool.. you are looking for a key (a psw) and this is the "tool" to do it.. therefor it is a pswtool... now the only "threat" to your computer is the "tool" sitting behind the keyboard, may i suggest you pack everything back in its original boxes, and take it back to the retailer. because obviously you are too stupid to own it

ok. i understand now.
once the command is typed at the prompt, the program begins to run silently in the background.
to double check it has worked go to your task manager and click the "processes" tab. you should see the exe. running as explained in the original instructions.
now we just wait. i have made a note of my key, and i need to keep checking jellybean to see if the key is the same. if it is not, it means it's been changed and i should try to activate it again.
once i have activated it do i need to replace the file with the original? the one that i copied over to begin with?
