RogueRemover is a VIRUS ! ! !

By Paul on 28.02.2007 - 11:02
if your system got fu^cked up by rogueremover, here is what i did to fix it,
i ended up hiding my partition with all my important stuff on it
(using hirens boot cd 8.8 and paragon partition manager) ,
then remove assigned drive letter, and then did a full destroy and
recover to factory specs., then after everything was back,
i used paragon partition manager again to assign drive letter
then unhide my valuable partition.

do not make the same mistake, do not install rogueremover,

it damages your boot sector and that will make it impossible to
recover unless you do the steps that i mentioned here.
i will raise my voice on their forums from now on,
because this was such a bad headacke.

How can I install this?

By dzjepp on 01.03.2007 - 06:03
hi, there are no easy instructions included, please can someone tell us how to install it. i assume to usb key needs to be formatted into ntfs but xp only formats the key to fat32.

there is a file called livexp.bat but it only allows you to select the source (the usb key) and format or partition it, but there is no step to actually install (copy the files correctly).

i tried just copying the files in the installdir folder directly to the usb key but that didn't work. when i rebooted with the key it said "boot error" or something like that, so i didn't install it right.

how do i do it?

Installation instructions

By Bill on 02.03.2007 - 00:03
extract to c:\temp
open command prompt and navigate to c:\temp.
start the livexp.bat and give two parameters to it.
first parameter is where the files are, the second is there you want to install it.
e.g.
livexp c:\temp\installdir i:\
change settings, format as needed, etc. by following the instructions as necessary.
to install it finally, choose menu item 5, then menu item 1.
let it finish, then choose menu item 5 and menu item 2.
done.

Correction

By Bill on 02.03.2007 - 00:03
correction #1
no need for parameters - just start the batch file.
be sure to enter the target path first because the batch file seems to be buggy. if you start with the source path, you will end up in an infinite loop later.
correction #2
the 2nd install item will produce an error - you need to copy a boot.ini there manually. but i am not sure what this does... it seems to delete everything it installed in the 1st step and do it again...

Correction again

By Bill on 02.03.2007 - 00:03
the installer batch file seems to be broken.
it does not install the boot sector a couple of other files.
let's check back after an update, shall we?

Thanks for help

By dzjepp on 02.03.2007 - 06:03
hey thanks for the help. yeah the bat file doesn't seem to do anything. there is no real "copy/install this to key" option.

if you ever figure this out could you please update with a new post.

thanks

Microsoft is controling their products too much

By A victim of M$h!t on 27.03.2007 - 21:03
you know a reason why i """crack""" """windows xp activation""". because i legally own a copy and it's genuine from a retail store but micros#it told me you can only activate it on 1 computer. wtf i pay for xp and i get bs.

i minus well pirate instead of buying their wpa infested products.
see bill shates activation increases piracy. it does increase piracy and cracking.

you didn't think about that but only wanting to control ur legitimate users till they learn how to crack wpa too.

you lost m$$$$$. you need to learn innocent people will buy your copies and you need to learn to trust them microsoft instead of treating them like criminals.

How to make work

By Rented on 14.04.2007 - 17:04
you must extract the files to your main drives temp folder ( usualy found under your c: drive , run the .bat , choose option 1 and type in where the files are (c:\temp\installdir) press return , gotto option 2 and put in the drive letter for your usb stick ( f: ) or whatever it is then gotto option 5 press 1 and there you go :)
