nothing wrong with the updates. i installed them all and nothing has changed as far as the timerstop service is concerned.

same here. i have ultimate rtm x86 installed with timerstop v2a and ran all updates till today with no problem. still 43200 minutes to activate. just waiting for something like offline activator...

i tried this crack, it said date changed, re-armed vista, then installing service, then failed to install service, anyone know what happened?

using vista 32bit ultimate edition and i have windows defender on with all the updates. timer still does not count down. permanently locked at 30 day eval until next os....vienna....hopefully. woo-hoo! :)

i've installed all updates from microsoft on vista ultimate 32 with original timerstop crack since 20.12.2006(except kb929391, it newer showed in the updates for me), and everything is ok. for safety do an image of your vista drive ( with acronis true image 10 home) before updating and disable the automatic updates (keep only the notofocation of new updates).

it is realy imposible to make the year 1099 in bios?
my bios stops at 1098^^ :-(

seriously... just use the latest date your bios will allow. dec. 31, 2098 will do just fine.

i believe sehs germany either wrote a typo or misread the instructions.

it looks like you guys had it right. one care still needs work. it doesn't keep all trojans,viruses off of vista. it looks at least so far that kaspersky, and bitdefender do a better job. oh! and keeping wife and kids off pc helps too!:) finally i do aggree that the longer vista is out the more it will be cracked. keep up the good work.

i have seen over a dozen different people grab all updates available with no issues provided they used either the kms method or they used a current timerstop revision, older cracks and frankenbuilds have been circumvented.

its allright.i have all the updates and it's running since 11-12-2007 dutch version and with the first timer crack ,bios.

i installed all of the updates (including the ones that are said to be bad) and my comp is just fine its been restarted and the time is still frozen its been 3 hours now i guess i have the 2a version

i been running a frankenbuild from the rtm release with no problems,even now..duh !!! too many newbies here that insert foot -in -mouth..

i have vista 64 with first timestopper. worked great with the initial install process, tyear 2099... process.

new updates, even omitting - kb929391 caused timer to begin counting.
- kb931573 was not a vista ultimate 64 update so no worry there.

since i had 64 already installed, along with the original timestop crack, i wanted to see if v 2 of timestop would work. it does, and here is how i stepped the process.

on boot set bios date to 2099.

boot into vista, run crack v 2. it will error, saying it can not install timestop.sys to windows/system32 directory.

once the crack errors, close it down, and manually copy timestop.sys to the windows/system32 directory.

reboot leaving the date at 2099.

reboot and set the bios date to 2007, and continue the boot.

update. i did all updates except kb929391. before the v 2 update, my clock was locked at 41588. following my clock is now 43200 and stable-locked for the last 3 hours or 4 reboots.

perhaps just putting the timestopper.sys file into the windows/system32 directory would be sufficient to make the full changes, without the date change and reboots?

just installed 32 bit ultimate, forgot to alter system clock in bios, changed date after first boot, ran crack, works fine. also installed all the updates & still showing 30 days to register :-)

i just installed vista ultimate with no key, and ran the simple timerstop v2a (download up at the top), and everything works fine. as much as i want to, i'm not taking the risk of downloading updates. at least not until there is a better hack out there...

sorry, what you download at the link above is not timerstop v2a. its version 1.
you can identify it that way:
version 1 contains timerstop.sys driver with size of 3584 bytes.

version 2a contains timerstop.sys 4096 bytes and timerstop64.sys with 6136 bytes.
it's simple as that.

where to obtain version 2a?

i've noticed that there are x86 versions that are 2.5gb and x64 versions that are 3.2gb.

then there's the aio version that is 4.4gb

is the aio version missing anything - because if we combine the x86 and x64 version it adds up to 5.7gb

step 6 should also tell you to right click on your exe go to compatibility and run as admin or it wont work ... fyi please change the above process :)

to be able to update the performance test in vista after having installed in 2099 (or having run a test in 2099), just remove the result-file from windows\performance\winsat\datastore . then you can run the test and it should update just fine. windows simply thought that your 2099 result was newer. :d

munna: just don't enter a key at install, read the message that comes up and click the right button (it's "no" if i remember correctly).

following use the method above and regaining my 30 days time stop, today i saw a notice for an 'update' from ms for windows defencer... a defender update file.

i updated and viola, my clock was back to counting the time down!

i've rfeapplied the v 2 timestoper.sys to my system32 directory, and on the first reboot, i was back to 30 days. i'll let you know how it goes following a nights rest and reboot in the am.

this howto is very nice. but it won't be the easy thing for a long time. i readed an little article. vista will deactivate after 90 days. it was an article from chip.de

crack works fine, says 29 days, 43194 minutes when i type slmgr -dlb at the command prompt.
my question is this will thr ever be a crack which will remove the 3o days left in control panel/ system or better yet not require you to set your clock to the future, kind of like the win xp cracks.

used this cract on a ultimate retail. it worked pretty well. after few hours, it still says 43200 minutes. updating kb931573 was okay, no problem. although the crack started itself for few times when rebooted even after finished cracked, after few more times reboot, it did not start itself again. that is wonderful.

yes it works that is the timerstop 4096 byte v2a one and yes windows defender definition updates do mess it up, causing it to count down.. and yes it will lock at 43200 minutes. one thing tho .. go to sidebar and install the gadget uptime .. and have a look at your uptime. it will show 85 to 86 days. and counting down. tested this from brand new install five times different versions. now each time you reboot .. it starts again at 86 days .. only way to test this would be to leave it running for 86 days .. either that .. or try it yourself .. and tell me what you think of the 86 days counting down .. im not saying not to use this crack .. cause it does work. but i presume you are all going to get the uptimer counting down from 86 days with this .. if you dont reboot. if you reboot every 56 days .. you will always have 43200 minutes. any comments on that. im buying vista anyway .. but i thought id post this infomation to see what the comments were ..

i may have answered my earlier question. if u use an uptimer and watch it count down to 0. advance time by changing the date. watch it count down to 0 from 86 days or 115 or whatever u have. i can report that once it gets to 0 it then starts counting upwards again. 2 minutes .. 3 minutes ect. so unlike what people were sayin above about it stopping at 30 days. i think we can report this crack is permanent. you could leave your computer running all year and it will not turn off. this post is only for information purposes.

i have vista ultimate time cracked installed since 28 december/06. i aleays have allow updates to install and today i verified taht kb931573 is installed since 31-01-07. the test crack says it is in grace period with 29 days like the day i have cracked it. my vista is 32 bit. so, why are you so worried abou this update?

for those who have the older speedtouch 120 wireless usb adapters just install the winxp drivers (clientmanager and driver) under vista and they will work

requires "vista rtm crack.exe" and "timestop.sys"

step 1: ensure that you are disconnected from the internet
set bios date to year 2099

step 2: install vista business edition with no product key entered.

step 3: change date back to today and disconnect the syncronization with internet time

step 4: right click "vista rtm crack.exe" and run as administrator
allow computer to restart.

step 5: a message should appear, click finish. connect to internet.

step 6: run "command prompt" as adminstrator

message appears "installed product key..."
click ok

i came up with the idea of combining these two cracks.

its the only crack that will never expire (unlike the frankenbuilds) and its actually says windows is activated in the system properties. and of course you never have to reactivate

dont ever install vista with a key unless its a genuine key that you purchased.

if you install ultimate, it will place your old operating system into a folder called windows.old

or if you do an update it'll keep all your files.

or if you format then of course you loose everything.

never ever install two operating systems on the same partition/hardrive



besides not using defender to mess things up, also, don't use a registry cleaner i.e. registry mechanic cause it caught the registry key for the crack and kicked it out :( my timer started up again. might want to turn off the internet sync shit also.

thanks for all the posts on what works and what doesn't. updates as of feb 25 2007 does not affect. i do not use msdefender am waiting for zonealrm to become vista compatible. i dual boot and both xp and vista play nice, can share files across partitions. will use over again if i screw it up somehow. turned of uac and auto updates. one thing when i check with the old versions timer test it says zero timers stopped, but it always shows 43200/30 days.

i'm sorry everybody i just realized that using the brute force keygen may be taking genuine keys from valid buyers therefore it should not be used!

my bios only goes upto 2098, then vista shows the date as 1998.

i follow the steps until the step 4 and when windos is preparing to start the session,said to me that the licence it expire and it don't work. notes.. i don't put any serial in the begining to the setup, i change the date to dec.30.2099, my windows is vista ultimate rc2, i disconect al internet conections and i select in the windows options that i don't want to update.. ..please help me whit that problem i did all right but i still have this problem...what can i do????? my email is jvcta@hotmail.com help me please....please...
