Windows Vista RTM - Demonstation of Windows ReadyBoost
section: windows, for your questions: KezNews forum, 2.1.2006
In this video guy tested how fast Windows Vista boots to the destkop with and without a 512MB SD card.
It speeds up the desktop startup from 43 seconds too 14!
First off, Vista is not a memory hog. If you have the Aero effects on it's only natural to expect it to use more ram than Windows XP. If you turn the Aero effects off, the ram usage is very similar to Windows XP.
Secondly, if you look at the bench marks or actually use Vista RTM, you will find that not only is it faster than Windows XP in many situations, but it much more reliable.

hi there.
where can i find that readyboost software ?
it's already in vista, you need a readyboost capable sd card or usbstick and your ready to roll
flash memory has a limited number of read/write cycles, using it like ram is a pretty quick way of wearing it out.
