i just tried both links are working.
what you have to do is click on the link, then a new window opens, click on the free download and another window will open, so look at the botton and you will see a count down, when it finishs give you 4 numbers you enter on the form next to it and click download, should work.

can we use windows update service this way?

can someone just send a x64 to these guys in china (apparently only chinese can crack vista) since apparently they do everything for old x86 computers?

it looks as though it messes with spsys.sys in system memory. you cannot do that in x64 because of added protection given by the cpu. you will have to find another way of tampering with spsys.sys!

couple of things to note...

1-there is a major delay before the "command completed successfully" prompt appears - be very patient!

2-pressing the test button yielded a response of 2 timers stopped, not 4.

3-the command slmgr.vbs -dlv returns a script error during the patch process, but works properly after the first reboot showing 43200 minutes remaining.

worked so far, the only thing that did not work was it would not let me set the dat in cmp to 2099 so i had to set it in the bios and when it restarted it sed windows medaplayer will not work with this date but i just carred on with the crack and it seems to work

it's not working at all with x64 version, i just just tried.
as said above there is no chance that it ever works with x64, lame :(

i'm glad to report that the crack works. i've tested on 3 systems. you do not need to have a new installation to use the crack, you can just crack it from within the current windows you are using. this safes alot of time on fresh installation of windows & softwares and not to mention configurations :) have fun.

there is another method of cracking time period in windows vista disconnect the internet and then go to bios and set the system date to 31 december 2099 and install the fresh installution [fromat the drive where you are going to install the os] install avy ver of os without product key after the intalution is completed when ask for the regional setting, date and time dont change this thing just click next after the installution is completed restart the pc and set the current date time and regional setting and the connect the internet and it will remain 30 days until 31 dec 2099

one month old. the timer counts down during the time the system is active.

more than 15 hours after applying the crack and 35 system resets and vista still reports 43200 minutes (30days) !!!!

this is just a extension of grace period and it´s just a matter of time m$ blocks this service...they just have to check the timer 43200. if u have 43200 on update vista, there could be something wrong...

yes this crack works great and yes its no activation but the best one so far and @wel..... wat if your windows update is disabled what can microsoft do?they cant do anything unless they want to hack every people's computer by putting patches silently and thats illegal so if you have a prob with ms then disable windows update in services.msc!then you won't have problems the day ms release a fix for this method!!!

will this not work because the december 31st. 2099 trick must be 2099....or will a later date of 2073 suffice?

i carried through the procedure yesterday and the time really stopped. yesterday i looked at through the command - xpr and it marked my expiration in 19/01/2007. i looked at today through the command - xpr and still marked 19/01/2007. now if i to advance the calendar in one day the command - xpr marks the time of expiration in 20/01/2007. this is correct?

the time frozen on me lastnight when i tried the trick...but...once i connected it up to the internet....the timer continued on....once i pulled the internet connection though.....the timer stopped again.

hey all i know what could be problem i didnt disable updates in services.msc and let download first 5 updates (they looked safe for crack but....)so im gonna try it on fresh ultimate x86 no updates disabled in services.msc nad if it will co8unt than its at 100% not working.

1)installed fresh copy of windows vista ultimate x86 - winbeta on fully formatted hard disk

2)disconnected the internet for all the installing and cracking time

3)when boots up disabled updates in cotrol panel and in services.msc

4)cracked sucessfully at 100% right.

5)connected the internet and set up windows....

im waiting if it will countdown anytime if it will than its not working.....i didnt do anything bad...

if you have less than 27 days or whatever left you'll get a daily popup reminding you to register windows.. at least i did when i had 39000 minutes left, so i used this to reset it back up

i have tried this method (but i had entered the activation keys before) and i can not log on any more it will stop and tell you can not log on u have to purchase keys it will allow me to access the internt i can not acess any thing else only pls. help

did a timer stop on a kms activated system, just for kicks, the machine was installed with a date of 2007 (to test if the kms server would activate a client set to a newer date than its system date in the vmware image, which it does), not only did it stop the timer but i actually gained like 20 minutes (i think i had had the system up for 20 minutes before installing the patch or something), and now its frozen at the slightly higher number, over the course of 3 reboots and about 12 hours or so.

i think you stop arguing over who gets credit for the crack since we all benefit from it. the more people helping the merrier, we dont all have to goto one site. thanks to all sites who are hosting this info and links because we will need as many as we can get.

yes, it is simple to find image by signature, but it needs an update to be installed on your box. wus can easily scan registry to find the timerstop by scan.

why did you enter a activation key? for one there isn't a activation key that will work yet, since vista is not out as of next month, so, i don't think you have any way of repairing your os, reformat might be your only option.

humm ... what are you trying to do? if i were you i would just do a fresh install and use the method above to stop the time bomb. i tried it and it's working for me so i recommend you do the same. don't enter any key durning the installation.

slmgr.vbs -upk
uninstall product key

slmgr.vbs -cpky
clear product key from registry

before u install a fresh vista
1.unplug your pc?s internet connection.
2.turn on your pc (or restart if it?s already on) and boot into your bios (usually hitting the key before initialization; otherwise refer to your instruction manual).
3.set the date to december 31, 2099 (december to prevent accidents from happening when setting the year back to 2099 for any reason; as vista keeps the most amount of days you passed the time you installed it, so if you pass the 30 days after you install it and boot up vista, it will remember that every time you reboot and not allow you to log on).
4.save & exit the bios and install vista, leaving the product key textbox blank and un-checking the ?automatically activate windows when i?m online? checkbox. (you can either burn the iso file to a dvd using software like dvd decrypter or mounting it to a virtual drive with daemon tools
5.when windows shows the time settings when you?re setting it up, do not change anything (not even the time zone), just click ?next? and finish. now windows will test your system performance.
6.after it finishes, log on. click on the time on your taskbar, click the ?change date and time settings?? link, go to the ?internet time? tab, hit the ?change settings? button, and uncheck the ?synchronize with an internet time server? checkbox. then set your date back to today. also, you can set the time zone to your own.
7.plug in your pc?s internet connection and download updates as necessary
8.now the 30-day trial period will last until year 2099. you will not be able to activate windows, but wga still works and you can download anything from microsoft just like a legitimate copy of windows can. this trick goes the same for windows xp. the activation status in system information (control panel à system) will say 30 days.

i use this info long time ago, before somthing likley came up here...installed home premium, and its still 30 days after 4 weeks....didnt now about "timestopper" or what ever..however i will see 30januari if vista comes in swedish edition...shorly all of us want windows in our own languie

well it seems to me that, vista works fine for some people and dont for the rest...this discussion never end...but above textinfo has helpt a lot...than there are up to "yourself" to do your own install...all computers are unlike, and all people are unlike...i run vista home premium because its my chose...and my trial seems to never end, and maby im just have "luck"

i used dr. chang's patch and used my rc1 key. called microsoft and they gave me another key and it worked. i'm activated. only problem is i cant get rid of that stupid watermark. its ok. i would rather have the watermark with full version, then have a non watermark 30day version. thanks dr.chang

i think this is related to the patch. ive been running the patch flawlessly for a few days now but i was browsing around in the clock in the tray, and its options. somewhere during this time the clock shows like this...

example: 12:30 am0:30

so its like 1 clock and half a clock
not only that, it shows in every window or program that shows a clock

if someone else can verify that its a bug in the patch - just have a browse in there or play with the settings

working or not, to me this is still one of those "half-assed" cracks and should be considered extremely volatile meaning anything could fucking happen and just about any fucking time. what happens if timerstop.sys somehow through no fault of the user, gets corrupted, deleted, or otherwize disabled somehow? wtf do you think is gonna happen? i think you know what will happen: boom, no warning vista deactivates point blank if you've been using it passed 30 days with a "tampered frozen timer".

this is a step in the right direction as i can see people are trying diligently to thwart the protection of the demon company and it's demon worshiping programmers, but this shit is dangerous and i don't trust it, even if it fucking works 100 days.

even if you have a valid serial and do phone activation,the validation check will determine that you are not running genuine windows and disable windows, and unlike xp, xp was cracked before it was released and bit torrents didn't exist that many years ago. vista is a lot harder to crack with software protection platform and a patch guard in 64 bit systems same technologies will be used for future operating systems. well hope microsoft wont make windows vienna codenamed "black comb" uncrackable when its released in 2010-2011.if you like xp better dont upgrade!!!!

lets face it, cracking ultimate seems like a lost cause in my eyes because of the methods being used to fool the activation timers. replacing key windows files carry the risk of you one day being locked out for good with no recourse.

using the kms server method however seems to be a more reliable path to take since your using a legitimate method to register and activate windows. disabling windows updates may be the only downside of this method, but there's also autostreamer which can also patch vista updates as well. the kms server can and will be the best available activation method so go with business instead of ultimate and avoid headaches.

i figure the only possible way they could crack ultimate is to use someone elses files from another activated vista rtm or later rather than the rc1+2 files being currently used as these will most likely become a problem in the future from some update.

i had been using vista for a few days and it had told me my version wasnt genuine, so when i restarted with a later date, vista had expired. am going to have do a full reboot. am sure it is a great crack but you should warn that wont work if your machine has been updated with the new activation tool from windows update. thanks guys.......

fellows how about we stop our criticism of the hackers and instead provide only positive feedback. cracking vista is clearly a difficult task and it wont happen over night, but through trial and error. personally, i take my hat off to all these guys. it doesnt matter if the crack finally succeeds or is just a temporary measure. at least they are trying. if you have lost important data that is your own responsibility and without wishing to be offensive, you own irresponsibility. install the os on its own separate partition with your data on another partition. make an image of your vista partition at the time you install the crack. if you are a one computer household either dont use vista or dual boot. if ms wasnt so bloody greedy these cracks would not be needed.

i am using amd x64 dual core 3800+. i installed the vista ultimate 64bit edition and using the timer stop crack. it also works. when i reboot the system it shows 43200 minutes. the timer counts down as long as i am in the vista. however, when i reboot the system again, the timer reset to 43200 minutes. i wonder what will happen if i run vista continuously without rebooting for 43200 minutes.

when i use this crack everytime i shut down my computer then timer is atrestart the timer starts counting again but if i restart again the 43200 minutes again, is this supposed to happen or did i do it wrong, i used the computer for 8 hours and rebooted a couple of times.

it should stay on 42300 minutes never mind restarts or hours.have you installed any updates ?hopefully it will stay on 30 days and you ll be able to use it foreva.but f course you cannot run it more than 30 days in time.

almost strange it doesn't work on a german version. are you sure you did exactly as described above? it does work on my (32bit) dutch version.
nevertheless i noticed it sometimes starts counting back after a 'fresh restart' of windows. and then, after some time, the patch suddenly seems to be 'refound', so that it has 43200 minutes again.

the date notation in dutch differs from the description off course!! might be the same in german..

i have installed a couple of updates like definition updates and networking updates and stuff like that, i have automatic updates turned on should i disable updates in control panel and services.

i have xp and vista ultimate running on the same drive in separate partitions,
and this method has indeed worked for me.
43200 minutes after every plenty of restarts since 20-12-06. *but we will only know if this definately works once 30 days has passed.
if it doesn't work after then all ill do is format the partition its on and continue using xp, im only using out of curiosity anyway.
and yes i would disable auto updates .

to ryan: after i applied the timestopper crack, then out of curiosity, i advance date to dec 2007 and reboot. after i reboot, i was in my desktop with no activation poppup. so i think this crack is the one.

i was wondering how long will take antiwpa to crack this one coz from what i heard initially vista is near impossible crack ad yada yada. he's awesome. i use his stuff on xp as well.

in case anyone ever gets the windows activation thing before a complete log-on, tell it to access computer with reduced functionality. in the address bar of internet explorer typ in c: and hit enter, if it asks for permission tell it to allow. then go to ur c:\windows folder and execute explorer.exe. now u can access the computer almost as if nothing is wrong. but u cant use control panel or the system properties as u normally would. u can still set the run command to display in the start menu and run taskmgr to use the task manager. i recommend loggin on this way to crack if u dont want to re-install. but dont close the activation box or windows will log off and u'll have to open explorer again. hope this helps for some.

this crack didn't work for me. i followed all the steps. i'm gonna go back and try again but it just kept counting down and told me 4 timers initially. then 2 then bounces around at 2 1 3 etc.

if this crack installs a service called "timerstop", why cant i see the sevice running? can anybody confirm or deny that this installs a windows sevice which shows up in sevices.msc?

i've been having some issues with the whole windows validation crap saying its not registered, have the update services killed its been running on the whole 30 day trial stuff from rearming previously, but anyways to me it appears the only way it could check and stop it would be windows defender cause i fogot to turn that service off..

buster, you can't see via service, it's a "driver", if you want to see it, use a utility like "serviwin" (search on google)

except for the fact that the core 2 duos are kicking butt over the 64 bit ones...... yeah crack works great i love it! just cant wait for someone to clear out all the m$ $pyware.

this does work very well. u dont really have to follow all of th directions, at least i didnt. i just installed vista ultimate (rc1) and did the date thing in cmd. then i tried the -rearm thing, but it didnt do anything, it said somethin about not being a valid command and it game me all of the other -xxxx commands possible. i just did the date thing after that and set my date back, and ran the test in the crack -4 timers stopped- then checked the timer and it had in fact stopped. so i installed the service, restarted and bam! it worked awesome. i didnt get the part about the "2099-rearm trick" so i just did things on my own and it worked! finally, i think we have "the crack"!!!!! but is there any timebomb crack yet that works (that actually keeps vista from expiring on 5/31/2007?? please let me know if there is! thanx in advance!

vista did work fine, untill i updated it. from then on its says its not geniune. so ive tried the timestopper. but when i restart, vista says window license is expired. ive tried everything, rc1 keys but nothing works, can someone help me please

unplug your internet cable then install vista. then turn off window update also type "services" in search and disable window update startup and kill it if it's ruuning.

what about updates? is it possible to have updates from microsoft or system will crack down???

just installed vista from scratch on a second hdd, without changing the bios date and stuff, followed the instructions to the letter and it works 100% on windows ultimate, even the updates work.

either type slmgr.vbs -dlv or slmgr.vbs -dli in the search box on the start menu, the blue button with a windows logo. or run command prompt or cmd as an administrator and type cscript slmgr.vbs -dlv or -dli.

you don't need to reinstall. i applied the crack on a vista that is past 30 days trial and it works. i also noticed on the first restart, a watermark appeared on the bottom right corner. on the 2nd restart, the watermark disappeared. hooray!

also something to note. you don't restart your system,until step 17!!
i know step 8 says restart, but its actually a quote of what happens when you do the step. don't restart!

as soon as the first windows update comes along it will nuke this crack. you can rename files/services but it can still be found just like a renamed virus can be found. it's only going to buy you a week or two, what's the point?

there are silent updates....you must disable all updates after install.

i used the crack in vista 64.it didn't permanently stopped the countdown but it countdowns from 43140 every time it boots in windows.we can actually call it a success.

installed two days ago, numerous reboot and installed updates on day one without prob. check time today, it is still 43200. crack works if done right. but vista has issues with gaming..so back to xp pro for me.

almost forgot, i did install the ultimate version and applied crack. worked for me.

ok so ive tried burning "msdn vista rtm.iso" to a dvd using roxio and isorecorder. both times the burn completed, but when i tried to boot from the dvd, it wouldn't do anything.. just loaded xp from the hd. ive changed my bios settings so that the cd drive is first on the list when checking for bootable os's.

there is no update yet from ms that blocks the patch but they are aware of it and already have a team to deal with it so expect something rather soon.

after reboot vista says time was over and enteres reduced funcionality. hit activate. ie7 opens, type c:\ and find your time stopper and run it... after that reboot and change time back to 2006

anyone worried about windows update deactivating your timerstop.sys? fix it! rename timerstop.sys to whatever you want, then change all the timerstop.sys info in its registry entry to what you renamed it. change the registry entry name too. back up the file and the registry entry first though. i did it and its working still at 100%. 43200 minutes and still standing still. just dont get on here and tell everyone what you renamed it so m$ can find out what you did exactly. it is after all "personal computer" right?

tried it and succeeded. xpr shows that i have exactly 30 days left all the time. applied the crack few daysago, and after restarts and stuff no count down. do you think we should rename the timerstop.sys and handle the registry? i need instructions for the registry... anyone?

to any skeptics, its really very simple. find hkey_local_machine\system\controlset001\services\timerstop then find everything that is named "timerstop.sys" or "timerstop" in the entry, rename it all to a personal name you want (dont rename any number values, only rename the text values) then rename timerstop.sys to whatever name you chose for it, ex: hkey_local_machine\system\controlset001\services\timerstop to hkey_local_machine\system\controlset001\services\mynameisdirte then resistry values the same \??\c:\windows\system32\timerstop.sys to \??\c:\windows\system32\mynameisdirte.sys then go into your system32 folder and rename the file timerstop.sys to mynameisdirte.sys, 100% simple. of corse dont rename it to what the example says to name it to, thats all your personal preference. if you want to name it ilovethecock.sys, thats what you do, whatever floats your boat. just make sure all the text information is the same at the end. remember to backup your reg entry and .sys file first, in case you make a boo boo, that way you can just add the reg back and put the file back in system 32, then it will work again (if you boo boo). this is all from trial and error in my part, i slaved over a hot computer all day so you people would stop crying about windows updates slapping your computers wrists. give it a try, youll smile in the end!

i would appreciate any help in a listing of where in vista are all of the timerstop.sys files that have to be renamed. also would help if you could explain how to disable it in services as well

oh yeah, i almost forgot, im still at 43200 minutes and 30 days "with the edit to the registry and files" i dont even have the original timerstop files on my pc anymore. if you want to know how to open your registry, go into "run" or hit your windows and r keys at the same time and type regedit into the run box.

just change the registry entries and that sets your services and everything too. the entries are as followed
[hkey_local_machine\system\controlset001\services\timerstop]
everythings there for timerstop, and your file is in
c:\windows\system32\timerstop.sys

ok. first off. the time stopper patch seems to work perfectly from what i can tell in my winbeta vista ultimate edition v6000 pc. i was however horrified to find out that media center was not appreciative of the date change.

issue after patch:

1. guide was not going to update again unti january 1, 2100
2. mce went through and cleared out all of my shows that were on the schedule for the next two weeks as it thought they were missed.

how i resolved:
1. went through and re-ran the setup for the mce application which triggered the guide to be updated again. may have been able to do this without going through the mce wizard.

2. took an old recordings.xml file from my xp mce and put it in place of the current one. restarted the mce scheduler service. mce went through and updated things.

even after this, the guide itself did not show the recording icon next to shows that were "scheduled" to record. i manually selected to record one. it complained about it being part of a series and when i cancelled the activity it updated everything showing the red icon next to all the shows scheduled to record.

now, whether mce would have eventually found the error in it's ways for what it had to record is unknown. however something i wanted to put out there as an fyi and for anyone else with this issue.

one thing i know for sure, the guide update would not have manually triggered again until the year 2100 unless i did part of the abvoe activity even though the clock was set back to 2006.

regardless of this headache, the crack does work, just has some issues with mce setup. perhaps if this fix was done before i setup mce it would not have been an issue also.

well, my fuckin timer keeps countin down, and it wont let me uninstall the timerstop patch, it just says test and install. uninstall is blocked out. and everytime i reinstall vista with the bios set at 12/31/2099, as soon as vista boots up it says my windows license expired! i have rc1, is that the problem? can someone tell me more about step 2, i dont know anything about the 2099-rearm trick, i need a more descriptive guide! please!!!?!???!?!!!! fuck u microsoft fuckers!!!!!!!!

this crack seems to cause problems with my system, after install seemed to work fine, on restart however it causes a bsod (blue screen of death) and restart at the login menu i deleted the registry values and uninstalled the service and restart returns to normal, so far the only workaround for the problem i have found is to boot to last known good configuration every time i start vista ultimate, anyone know how to fix this

yep same here. after reboot sometimes after/during login i get a bsod for a few sec. just long enough to see timerstop.sys is causing it. to bad, back to kms activation i guess.

of course there are issues. it's running a stupid tsr that's conflicting with other crap and not compatible with everyone's hardware and setups. it is a driver if you think about it and do all drivers works stable in all systems? hell no. this is hit or miss with this procedure and really not worth having some crappy buggy tsr messing your system up. solution. get an xp pro vlk and stick with that. and we all know as soon as there is a sp1 for vista this so called crack will burn away quick. who wants to run a new ms product without doing updates? i certainly do not.

please download vista rtm and apply this crack in rtm only for stability. dont apply this crack in rc1, rc2, or any other pre-rtm.

a couple days ago i installed rc2 and attempted timerstop.sys... after restart it brought me to activate windows, requiring a key and only allowing ie access. i reinstalled about 3 times trying diff things and no fix...

anyway, just got rtm so maybe this fixes it. will be applying it shortly. we'll see if this works...

timerstop.sys is not a digitally signed driver. therefore it won't be started on x64 vista. for x86 vista the driver digital signature stuff is not mandatory so far. in other words, timerstop.sys will work on x86 only. use “windows services and drivers” freeware by nirsoft for timerstop.sys status on x64 vista.

hi, tried this first time and it did not work - instructions are not quiet complete. maybe others have had this problem? i reformated the disk and reinstalled vista as per the instructions but note it is important that you untick the register vista box on one of the early install screens - otherwise you cannot install the stoptimer.sys file - you get an error message. also, after running the patch sucessfully, i did a cold reboot to avoid the bsod when you restart. i also pulled the mains lead out to ensure it was a completely cold reboot. all worked ok and i now have an unchanging timer. many thnaks to all the peeps who contributed to this one. btw, i installed to a spare hd and it now dual boots xp and vista. great! jeff

did everything this thing told me to, after 3 days of using "slmgr.vbs -dlv" still tells me "43200 minute(s) (30day(s))" remaining. but one catch is, i got a message in the taskbar today saying "activate windows within 27 days" or something along those lines. so perhaps the timer still goes on in the background.
