it's for business and enterprise. as a matter of fact i'm running enterprise right now.

replace your ultimate edition pkeyconfig & tokens.dat from the ones in business edition!reboot & follow these steps

*i prefer a kms activated business edition pkeyconfig & tokens.dat

then follow these steps posted by goober nice job dude!

1. perform a clean install of windows business edition using the key:

yfkbb-pqjjv-g996g-vwgxy-2v3x8

2. once windows is installed, install vmware workstation and extract the windows kms server image.

a. open the file windows vista (experimental).vmx in a text editor
b. add the following lines to this configuration file:

tools.synchronize.continue=false
tools.synchronize.restore=false
tools.synchronize.resume.disk=false
tools.synchronize.shrink=false
rtc.starttime = "1164286430"

c. save and exit the .vxm file

3. disconnect from internet and routers, then reboot.

4. upon restarting, open vmware and choose to open (not run) the server image.

5. on the word 'ethernet' on the right side of the screen double click and choose host only. (if youw ould like the image to be available to other computers on your network then choose bridged mode.)

6. start the server.

7. in the virtual server environment do the following:

a. disable the firewall
b. reboot
c. go to command prompt and type ipconfig to obtain the ip address of the virtual server

8. in the newly installed windows on your computer (aka the real windows) open a command prompt and ping the ip address of the server. if it can be pinged then everything is working as it should.

9. type the following:

slmgr -skms [ip address of server]

10. after confirmation type the following:

slmgr -ato

11. confirmation of activation should follow. use slmgr -dlv to verify if you would like.

12. in 6 months run the server and start at step 7c to renew your activation.

13. or use the kms server posted above when activating!

programs not working:

-windows media center
-mui language pack
-games (it works but u need to uninstall reinstall it first)


i dont understand what is the point of doing this...runing ultimate edition with keyconfig & tokens.dat of business or enterprise one..if you miss windows media center there is no point doing this because all the other futures of ultimate exept windows media center are the features of the enterprise version. if you miss media center its pointless..so doing this trick is useless in my opinion

for your info theres no media center in enterprise edition unless you use the crack!reset 5.01..and media center is useless!

all u need is the pkeyconfig & tokens.dat from vista business edition!then do the kms activation method

to have the mui pack working the only way it's to use enterprise. i've ultimate with enterprise files tokens and pkey substituted. i had to insert an enterprise key to let start windows but now i cannot activate to the servers above. anyone with enterprise installed could give me some advices?

ok, my windows was the ultimate and i do the above activation. everything was great, the useless media center dont work as expected, but the wmp show me a "low on memory" message when i try to play any dvd. any ideas?

looks like the same, old, useless 2-files/rc2-key method.

well it work if you activate ultimate by using those two files from business and once it's activated try to put back the two original ultimate files? i know that you'll have to enter the key over again but will it still keep the activation? just my thought!

download the kms vmware image and install vmware. after that follow paul hacker instruction step by step carefully not to miss a step and i promise you that it will work without any problems.

it's much more faster guys..vbs.net.cn is down its working but it wont accept connections!..download the kms server image from torrent its really fast then follow the steps i posted above and it should work like a charm!

why is it that people continue to keep things on torrent, it is less than 3kb/s now!!! 3kb/s for over 5gigs total with vista!!!!!

i was wondering how i could change my product key. whenever i go to change it, windows automatically tries to activate. is my only option to reinstall vista?

is not the torrent that is slow since it is not located in a server, it's shared among all people that have it on their compiyetrs.
i downloaded this torrent with 200kbs or more so it is probably your connection or the people connected now have a very low bandwith.

the chinese server has been patched up as far as i have read so go for the image server.

anyone know where we can get hands on the kms server iso instead of going with the vmware image? so we can just install it to another computer because it'll be better.

basically i'm using ultimate edition replaced the files from the business addition into my vista ultimate installation followed the instructions above and didn't even need to retype a product key and it activated my ultimate edition :)

well i hav no serial installation..
n got 30 day trial...
but by chance i found bluelist keygen any windows key recover n discover..
the key which genrated should be verify by the tool called windows product key update tool.exe which will be find on ms site... thn enter the key in the tool which genrated from the bluelist key recover n discover for ne windows..
n get a patched n valid genuine key from microsoft.... i had tried n its works 100%...
but try two or three keys....

thanks for the reply, foxman. i figured it out. i'm keeping the business edition and am testing it out cause i am due to get a free copy in "six to eight weeks."

i'm dual-booting xp and vista. there are still a lot of bugs in vista (that i"m coming across) and i want to keep my xp loaded just in case. besides, some programs just do not work right right now.

i have to admit vista has got me exited! i wasn't into computers or computing when xp was released.

i am a vista home basic user. i was trying to replace my pkeyconfig n tokens.dat file in safe mode with those from the vista business version. however when i rebooted into normal mode, i was asked to enter a product key. i tried entering the business product key however windows does not accept it... wat do i do now? wat did i do wrong? y m i locked out of windows?

i was wondering if it would be possible to build a "mak independent activation" script to work with vmware?

as we all should know...beta testers were given vald keys which means if we could somehow get our hands on the tokens...it may shed some light on an alternative way to create a mak server to somehow bypass the validation process.

i want to see your permanent activation!!! which version did u activate with? this sounds more than doubtful.

i've read about this in a serious computer-mag and they said it was supposed to work, but microsoft are going to shut down this server as soon as possible. so enjoy when u can :)

they can shut down whatever they want but they can't remove your personal kms from your hardk disk.

1.copy your windows vista business/enterprise edition's pkeyconfig.xrm-ms (found in c:\windows\system32\licensing\pkeyconfig) & tokens.dat (*show all hidden files first then c:\windows\serviceprofiles\networkservice\appdata\roaming\microsoft\softwarelicensing) to a temp folder

...but i haven't seen anyone say heads or tails on if this key works with enterprise edition.

i myself have the x86 windows vista enterprise...but no key.

is there a common already leaked key or what for the enterprise edition one?

i was checking out kms server activation and it doesn't show that it has 180 days or anything, maybe it's activated to become permanent, if we can use it's two file maybe we can become permanent too. all we need is the actually key to kms server.

maybe some day in the far future i will buy vista. or if i get very lucky i will get maybe a free copy, but i doubt that.

i had enough of the trying to get it activated and not working, so i removed vista from my comp and back to using xp which works perfect.

now only have to try and calm down the neighbour..she activated it thru the windows server and it didnt work and now shes is afraid microsoft will come after her beacause she used a illegal copy of vista and tried to activate it. hope i will be able to calm her down.

go to control pannel, click classic view

go to programs and features

click turn windows features on or off

click the check box games to install it

click ok and wait for windows to install the game.

done!

i tried using the kms method on vista business 64,it connects to the server but wont validate,so maybe just the 32 bit versions can only work for now.

trying to activate windows but i keep getting..request denied: the required action requires elevated privileges.

i´m getting the following error when trying to activate a copy of vista business: "error0x004f038 the computer could not be activated. the returned count from your key management service is insufficient."
the kms server is running in a wmware window on the same computer, and everything works ok until i run the activation command.
i installed vista business from the vista.rtm.32bit.and.64bit.aio by winbeta with the above mentioned key.

any suggestions to my problem?

btw. i have tried to connect to kms.vbs.net.cn for activation without success.

as i installed in the past, using winbeta dvd, the cd key yfkbb-pqjjv-g996g-vwgxy-2v3x8 was invalid. thus, you should find another dvd: billgate patch 2 or final.

and to my surprise, i now found out that my copy of vista is activated for 179 days, even though the error message informed me of the contrary.

so disregard my former postings, as all is ok for me now.

here's a problem. i installed enterprise and you don't need a key. so you'd think they can't block you from future updates if they don't have a key to track, right?

wrong. once you activate on the kms server, it 'gives' you a key. use the magic jelly bean keyfinder and you'll see that every machine you activate from the kms server (be it the local copy or the servers in china) give you the same key! they key they give you is vkk3x-68kwm-x2ygt-qr4m6-4bwmv. that means microsoft can easily block all future updates and possibly disable this kms server from activating if it gives that key. bad news...

is the server still running?

now i can install ultimate and trick them with the 2 crack files from business,hopefully that will work.

windows vista business already has the games which you see in home premium and ultimate. the thing is those games don;t be installed in windows installation, so you have to manual enable them by using programs and features in control pannel:

go to control pannel, click classic view

go to programs and features

click turn windows features on or off

click the check box games to install it

click ok and wait for windows to install the game.

done!

i got comfirmation that the dvd from winbeta aio windows vista 32x and 64x release is not even final code! yes the build number is the same and yes most of the files match up. but on important one does not. the same file that was responsible for the upgrade issues in rc2.
better throw that dvd away or you will waste your time!

i listen a lot of people here talking about an enterprise version.

i have downloaded the bill gates version. there is no enterprise option in it while instaling. what are you talking about guys?

in microsoft it says that the enterprise version will be for very large companies, and that it will be multi-language. i dont think it exists yet, because the versions for vista in each language arent ready yet. am i wrong? if it exists, can someone post the torrent or the name of the file here?

i am using echo's enterprise vista x86. when you go to install it, unlike all the other versions, it does not even ask you for a key. however when i try to change the product key, it says yfkbb-pqjjv-g996g-vwgxy-2v3x8 is invalid. what do i do. thanks

hi guys, i installed vmware and opened the kms image. everything went normal and i can even ping the vmware image. however when i tried to activate it, i keep getting the error "error 0x800706ba occured in connecting to server -skms. error description: the rpc server is unavailable" do i have to start some kinda service in the kms server running in vmware?

enter and wait ... for reponse ....
now try to activate again.

when insstalling vista, make sure you select business edition, don't enter key at all ....
before statring to activate, click change key ... you can enter key as above

thx. that changing of serial key didn't work. got another error, i think i messed up at the installation part, i did key in the key..oh well, i'll reinstall. thanks for the help. much appreciated.

i installed x64 business, and couldnt get it activated yesterday on kms.vbs.net.cn but tried again just now and it works!

i have exact the same issue when trying to activate the businessn edition via the vmware server. on vmware evrything seems ok, no firewalls, pinging vista-vmw vv is possible but it keeps on giving the rpc error. don't have a clue what is wrong, have also tried it with the ultimate edition without luck,
could you pls keep me informed of your solution (if any)?

i think i know the problem. u should be installing business edition and not businessn.

i've reinstalled everything and it works now.

i did the whole right click on cmd and run as administrator. nothin has changed still get, access denied: the requested action requires elevated privileges.

which files of winbeta aio are not final code? how do u know?

the windows version which is in the winbeta dvd is not 6.0.6000.16386 (current windows vista version), thus that dvd does not contain the final code.

u said that one important file does not match with rtm, which one? i cannot find any pre-rtm file version! imo it is rtm, but maybe i´m wrong.

winbeta vista all in one is the final code.winbeta release change a little file so the iso will be all in one..if you crc all the files of x86 folder all are the same of the msdn edition of vista..i dont know if x64 is the final code but x86 code of winvista all in one is 100% final..

ok i´ll keep the winbeta release. a crc check is a scientific proof not just a statement. that confirms my experience with it.

this torrent currently is available only on thepiratebay.org and it has the many seeders. the dvd iso in the torrent has been confirmed to have the final code 6.0.6000.16386 (the name of the file). so just pay 2-3 days download it, you won't be disappointed.

to verify you are using the final code of vista you must crc all the files inside the iso one by one not the iso itself.if you download a version that someone created it manualy and added some files in it like drivers,appz etc. the crc of the iso will not much with the final code iso..so crc all the files inside iso to verify its final code..

mr.x dont speak if you really dont have the iso releases. billgate release is final rtm but 2 small files...very small 1-2kb both arent final rtm because of editing from billgates..thats why there is the patch 2 to convert billgates release to msdn final rtm.for the winbeta release its the same..all files are rtm for x86 version...ok i understand that its very annoing to check one by one the files but dont tell to others that they dont have the final code..some people dont have very fast internet connection and its a littlte bit different to start downloading all over again...

all kms activations for vista business use default key yfkbb-pqjjv-g996g-vwgxy-2v3x8. this is by design.

there won't be any product-key blocked for kms activated clients since all kms clients in the whole world use the same key. and kms activated clients don't get wga check when using windows update. kms activated clients only required to reactivate with a kms server (can be a different kms server each time) every 180 days.
however, you can reactivate at anytime you like to reset the day-counter back to 180 days.

microsoft doesn't allow an organization to run kms server over the internet simply by a written agreement. there's no technical stuff involved. so i don't believe the rumors says that kms will be blocked. no way. and any kms activated client is 100% "genunie" vista !!

then the solution for pirates is very easy, simply clone the activated kms server to an image and disable it's windows update.

kms servers have own product-key, before start client activations, they are required to activate once with microsoft. so the solution is to clone an already activated kms server to a image.

just because i see too many people have problem with winbeta dvd release, and the files of x86 and x64 in the dvd may be modified someway to fit in one dvd. i even had problem with that dvd; it would not accept the key yfkbb-pqjjv-g996g-vwgxy-2v3x8 when i install vista x86 with that dvd. so i conlude that the winbeta dvd is not good. that's all!

now i want to install the x64 edition, and i don't want to use the winbeta dvd to avoid any further issue which may happens. thus i seek for the real standalone vista x64 iso.

it is untrue that all kms servers use the same key. read the microsoft instructions on technet on kms servers. you supply the kms server with a vlk you want pushed out to your clients.

so, once this vlk is banned,all clients that were activated from that key will either be blocked from updates (like the fck key on xp), or they may also drop the machine into reduced functionality mode.

so basically, this kms activation works, but it won't work for long unless new vlk's are leaked.

when (not if) the vlk is banned it will only be a problem in terms of windows update and wga downloads. as long as you can use wga patches/blockers things will be ok. other than the threat of rfm it's really no different than the situation that faces xp users with illegal keys.
activation using kms, however, will always be possible regardless of how "banned" a particular key gets to be.

also cynic, they can very easily release a service pack that you won't be able to install with certain vlk's, as they did with xp. it's fairly retarded to run an os that isn't fully patched. either way, this 'crack' is very detectable and they can find ways to prevent you from getting wga downloads, as well as operating system updates and service packs.

and who's to say how many people will install the first counter-patch that renders their computers useless until they provide a new key?

sure, this way will activate your copy, but it's not the perfect solution.

there is not one client key. it is based off of your vlk(s) you get from microsoft. at least that's how i understood it. go read up on the kms server on technet, it explains it.

the leaked key that run on chinese kms servers has been blocked a while ago. when these kms servers visit windows update, they will get blocked immediately and the chinese have to restore their kms servers back to normal status from image, then keep kms servers from windows update.

now, all you guys just actviated your business vista with those chinese kms servers, can you still get validated by visiting windows update? answer is yes.
why? because this is my design.

microsoft assume that, in the past, vlk leaking are done by theives and kids. business partners and microsoft professional/ it engineers are honest people.

in fact, microsoft's business partners, microsoft product professionals (especially those in china) were the people who continously cracking microsoft products.

kms in vista is worse than vlk in xp. micrsoft can block a vlk so that all clients installed with a blocked vlk are unable to download extras.

in vista, kms clients are only required to reactivated every 180 days with a kms server (different kms server is ok).

you read the kms tech notes again, an activated kms client does not interact with microsoft server.

kms activation + vista business
= perfect activation without a crack
= the future of next generation of windows piracy.

yes, the local vmware/kms image is a great activation crack.
the only downside is the whole wga issue which regardless of what key is used for installation/activation will be blacklisted.
as has been discussed already, we have to be very careful with installing any “updates” from microsoft because “reduced functionality mode” would not be a good place to be.
the solution for this will be:
wga patchers
or
another website offering the same hotfixes and other software that ms does without the wga checks
or
use vmware to image your vista and always make contact with windows update with the image first and make sure that all is ok before using any updates on your “real” vista.

if your vista pre-installed on oem laptop, and it's business ed., you can convert a client computer using mak activation to use kms ....

i have vista enterprise release by echos and the vmware server image, everything works fine, i can use nat or bridge connection to communicate with the server and followed the instructions carefully...

even the server can navigate on the internet... but each time i try to activate it an error that "the returned count from your key management service is insufficient"

i have tried everything but nothing works, tried connecting my computer directly to the modem and to a router but nothing works...

has this happened to any of you guys?

the problem is that the image is getting old and the count required to activate vista is too low unless you unsynchronize the time in vmware.
follow the instructions below:

1. once windows is installed, install vmware workstation and extract the windows kms server image.
a. open the file windows vista (experimental).vmx in a text editor
b. add the following lines to this configuration file:
tools.synchronize.continue=false
tools.synchronize.restore=false
tools.synchronize.resume.disk=false
tools.synchronize.shrink=false
rtc.starttime = "1164286430"
c. save and exit the .vxm file
2. disconnect from internet and routers, then reboot.
3. upon restarting, open vmware and choose to open (not run) the server image.

hm i always get whatever server i write :
0x8007232b dns name does not exist. my firewall blocks it? but i turned it off but still i cant. i run ultimate winbeta found on torrent 10 steps to activate ulitmate. i switched files.. and reboot and i got window where i was able only to write serial.. so i swichted to safe mode with comand and change server.. and when i went to windows in normal mode the activation window disapeared and again i can use windows lol but when i try slui the bar moves only a little and shows 0x8007232b

guys disable windows update,windows defender,windows time & uncheck time synchronization in date & time to prevent microsoft from applying any update or fix to try and destroy the activation crack (kms,etc)..this is the only possible safe way..disable it in msconfig & services.msc..

1. burn your windows vista rtm build 6000 iso

2. disable/unplug your internet connection

2. enter your bios and set your date year to 2099 (or whats the max year that your bios is capable of ex: on my desktop i set it to year 2070 and my laptop year 2099)

3. boot from your dvd

4. dont enter a product key! (leave it blank and a command will prompt click "no")



5. wait until windows vista finishes installation!

6. when vista installation is finished and goes to the windows where you'll enter your desired account name & password followed by computer name don't enter anything just press shift + f10 key a command prompt will pop-up then type "taskmgr" (without the "") go to processes and end the program called "msoobe.exe" by clicking end process.

7. the account creation screen should disappear & the welcome screen will appear but with a user called "other user" click the arrow button in the right corner then click "restart"

8. upon restart press f8 key then go to safe mode
